Is there a place online that lists the textbooks needed for courses?
I'd like to be prepared before I go into the campus bookstore tomorrow.
Thanks!

The campus bookstore is the place with the list. Unfortunately, I don't know of any single location that lists the needed books in one place, since professors can change the required reading each semester. You'd have to dig around on the website of each individual class to find the required book titles and make your list that way. But professors also report their textbook choices to the Coop, so you'll immediately be able to tell what books you need. The best way to buy books may be to get the titles from the Coop and then shop elsewhere (online, fellow students) for better prices.

Thanks!
I'll plan to go first thing tomorrow morning to get books before my classes start. Is the Coop different from the campus bookstore?

You don't need to get books before classes start.

It's going to be much more expensive to buy them from the Coop than it will be to buy them from Amazon Marketplace/half.com/bookx.mit.edu/fellow students. Just go into the Coop, write down the ISBNs for the books, and go look for them online.

Your first problem sets won't be due for a while, and if you need the books before they come in, you will be able to find somebody who bought the books full-price at the Coop whose book you can borrow until your cheap internet book comes in.

If you get them before classes start, you will be among the first to claim them from upperclassmen. I did that, and I actually ended up spending a TOTAL of 60 dollars for this semester. I'm pretty sure it's my biggest accomplishment at MIT thus far. ;) This works particularly well for the first semester too because everyone has taken the GIRs, so there are plenty of used books floating around.
