When and how we find out what textbooks we need? I know when I did dual enrollment during my senior year at a community college, they had a website where I could look up my teacher and the textbook he or she required. Does Illinois do the same thing? If so, can I get a link to the website?

You can add your class information into one of the following book store sites and get your texbook information. [url=http://tisbookui.com/]T.I.S. College Bookstore - University of Illinois/url or [url=http://uofibookstore.illinois.edu]Welcome | Illini Union Bookstore | University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign/url.

What classes are you taking? I’d advise you to wait til the first week of classes/talk to others who took the class if possible before you buy the books.

Okay! Thank you! I was actually hoping I’d know early on so I could work out a way to rent them for cheap.

I think you should email all of your teachers and ask them which books you will need.

Many classes already have their books listed. Others don’t. The advice from Aklauss17 to wait is correct. Texts that were used in previous terms may not be in upcoming ones. The instructor won’t expect you to be responsible for work from a text that hasn’t been specified on the bookstore websites. If not yet listed, the books will be shortly. I’d give it a week or two before beginning to email the instructor, but it’s up to you.
