Since tomorrow is my last day of class, and the day that I have determined to quit CC, I wanted to say that I hope I've been helpful, and that I've enjoyed trying to help even if I didn't. To all of you coming to Rice, I am looking forward to meeting you - and to those of you still deciding, best of luck.

If you think you will have burning questions for me (oh, how I flatter myself), PM me and I'll give you my e-mail address.

jenskate: really sorry to hear that you are "leaving". I was hoping that you would change your mind. You have provided my D and I, and I know many other prospies, with invaluable advice and information about Rice. I am hoping that my D meets up with you in the fall (although not sure I want her in Lovett, LOL, with that party reputation!). A lot of kids will be missing out on wonderful guidance next year with you gone. Take care and maybe check in occasionally to give us an update on your progress at Rice. I would really like to hear about your study abroad experience. My D may be emailing you before O week if she has any questions/concerns.. thanks for allowing her to do so. Thanks again for everything.

Oh, don't think I'm done helping prospies! I will continue to host visiting students, call accepted students, advise at O-week, etc. But I have to quit CC - it's finals week, and studying would probably be better, lol.

Bring a raincoat with you on your travels, Jenskate. Thanks for all of your information and we will look for you at o-week. I hope you realize how grateful a lot of us are for your availability to answer questions. D and I just breathed a huge sign of relief to find "deposit received" on her status page!

Thanks jenskate! Though I may not have taken much help from you as others, it is clear from the amount of appreciation others have for you that your aid was invaluable:)

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I just loved all the threads that had 'but jenskate would probably be better informed to answer this question.' Which you then proceeded to do, of course. Good luck with those finals.

Jenskate, I've enjoyed reading your posts and getting "the rest of the story" that my son does not provide. Good luck with your finals and have a wonderful summer!

thanks jenskate! i really appreciated all your insightful comments on rice... learned a lot from your posts. maybe i'll see you around rice next year eh?

Jen-
Thanks for all! I can't believe freshman year has flown by so fast! Hope you and my s. will cross paths one of these days. After all, until Leebron has his way, the campus is still pretty small ;)

jym - seeing your post made me sad. I'm such a CC addict, I feel like I actually know some of you! And I cannot for the life of me comprehend that I have one more class to go in my freshman year... :(

Awww Jen...so sorry you are leaving CC! It was such a pleasure to meet you when we visited the campus. D has put Rice at the top of her list and I sincerely hope that means we'll meet again. Thank you. thank you, thank you...for all of your help!

PS to jym...I know some think that Texan we have in the White House is a bit of a Jethro Bodine. But the Clampetts were from the Ozarks! lol!

laurensmom-
Oops!! You are right-- I stand corrected! Maybe they were from Texarkana??!!?? -- I must have gotten mixed up with the "Texas Tea" line from the show's themesong. Ditto for combining the family names of the Bodines and the Clampetts. But, all kidding aside, here's a little recent sad trivia:

Paul Henning Dies at 93:

Very sad news out of TV land today. Paul Henning, creator of "The Beverly Hillbilles," "Petticoat Junction," and "Green Acres," died Friday from Natural Causes at age 93. We will miss him dearly"
