Hi guys, this is not (directly) related to admissions, but I wanted to take a minute to recognize and thank one member here who has been invaluable to so many of us.
@gravitas2. Thank you. Thank you for everything. For answering all those questions, queries, doubts, silly expressions of anxiety - everything.
Like many of you who are active on this thread, I came to the Stanford forum on College Confidential as a young high school student, initially only reading posts and scouring threads for information I felt would come in handy a few years later. As someone who applied to Stanford this year, I was significantly more active on College Confidential and made several posts asking for advice and other questions. Throughout over 2 - 2.5 years of visiting this forum, I have always seen gravitas2 actively answering questions and giving applicants excellent advice. Once I messaged gravitas2 personally asking for some quick advice, and instead of the one line answer I was expecting, I received a long, detailed answer with some really excellent and valid points. From what I understand, gravitas2’s child is currently a member of Stanford’s Class of 2017, and I think it’s really cool that he/she has continued to be active on this thread and participate in the whole admissions ‘world’ for other applicants’ benefit. So on behalf of the entire College Confidential Stanford Applicant community (who I know share the same appreciation for your efforts), thank you gravitas2 for everything you’ve done for us. Accepted or rejected, we are grateful to you for always answering our questions and giving us useful links, resources or even some new insights of your own.
Thanks a lot!
