My daughter will be finishing her first shadowing experience next week. She’s been shadowing at a surgery center, and it has been a great experience for her. She’s planning to write a thank you letter to the doctor she’s shadowing, but is thinking about how to also thank the staff at the center, who have been very nice and helpful. Considering taking in cookies and/or some other treats for everyone. Are there typical "thank-you"s that shadowing students usually do or any other suggestions?
A thoughtful, hand-written note on nice stationery/ note card addressed to the staff and posted in the staff break room. That’s all either D ever did.
Before sending food of any kind, make sure there’s not any kind of rule prohibiting food from non-staff members being allowed in the staff room.
Consider a fresh fruit tray instead of cookies/doughnuts/sweets its since many people are trying to eat more healthily/avoid excess sugar or have specific food allergies. (nuts, gluten, chocolate, etc)
Thank you! I’ll suggest that she post a thank you note and ask about food restrictions. A fruit tray is a great idea, too!
