Thank You!

I am leaving for 3 weeks & I won't have any connection to the outside world as far as the website goes. I can email my son but can only check email about every two days or so, & this is coming from a mom that gets up at 4:00AM to make sure I am on line .... just in case he has enough time to "chat."

I just had to say that I can't thank all of you enough! I have been following EVERYTHING since our son reported on July 5th. This site is awesome! We would not have known about it until we met the LV parents, son, friend of son (going to USMMA) the morning of the 5th! Thanks for directing us to a site that actually helps you get through indoc & more!

Pic's are awesome! We were "bummed" through INDOC as there wern't many pic's of our son. We are saying, "maybe he went awall & "maybe he's in the "brigg!" Our boy would never do that but you get a little worried.

Through all your dedicated support, you were there for many important events. We lived that through your pics, over all these miles and found our son! We are so grateful!

Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!

For 7 years our son has fished with us off the west coast of Vancouver Island. Hasn't missed a year. Not the case this year. I told him, with everything you have committed to & everything that you are going through, I'll catch a fish that has your name on it! And I'll be happy to eat the shirmp we catch in your name! :)

It all changes, it's all good. Our son knows that & he also knows that we can follow him through pics,IM, letters & email.

I can just see our son with that little "smirk" on his face saying, "I'm fine, mom, it's fine."

Our son goes through life... everything is fine. He is so easy going.

Again I thank you all. You are awesome!

I'll check tommorrow but then I'm gone for 3 weeks.

Thanks again!

I will hold all you in my prayers!

RENOMom2011

Good Luck fishing RMom

Went fishing here in Chesapeake with my youngest (16)
this morning. We been doing it, like you. for many years
and I dont know if theirs any more bonding and memory
building activity then fishing with you kids.

He caught 7, I caught none. But I taught him absolutely
everything he knows about fishing. And hes knows it
Still asks me where to cast,

He wants to be marine engineering major like sis (KP2010)
but says KP is TOO MILITARY for him.

Again, Good Luck

It is great to read your post, RenoMom! I was afraid that I had lost contact with you because my emails to you came back as undeliverable.

Have a great trip. I will keep you in my prayers.
Kayleen from LV

Welcome! I am glad you have come out of lurking! now that you have introduced yourself, when you get back, stick around. As you know, we love to talk!

And for a whole year, my IM was up and running all day and evening, incase he wanted to chat.

but now he is out at sea.

no emails

no letters

no phone calls

no IM's, nuthin'

guess his ship doesn't have those things. I was a little bummed in the beginning, but remembered that NO phone calls also means he is safe.

Try to relax and enjoy your time away.

Prouddad2010 have you heard of the WEBB Institute? It is located in Glen Cove, NY about 30 minutes from KP. Our daughter just graduated and will begin work 8/20/07 in DC, with NAVSEA. The Webb is a challenge, a double major Naval Architecture as well as Marine Engineering. Also quite small, 20 graduates this year. One huge bonus 4year scholarship. Worth a look. www.webb-institute.edu

Our son is out to sea on the M/V Freedom and has been able to send an e-mail already. His tonsillitis is better with the able assistance of the crew and captain he reported his illness Saturday and saw a doctor in Charleston on Sunday. Had a chauffeur and waited only 5 minutes to see the Doctor, then a ride to the CVS (Z-Pack) and back to the ship. He reported back for duty after lunch. His e-mail last night sounded like he was having the time of his life and already sea stories abound. He is begining to understand first hand all of the Coast Guard stories his father has shared for years. I feel quite fortunate that he has had the chance to e-mail it like some kind of withdrawal not being able to AIM or call.
