Thank You!

As I was reading about the cities of Berkeley[/url”>http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=52426]Berkeley and Toledo disrespecting those that put their lives on the the line for us, I felt compelled to post a ‘Thank You !!!’ to all the H.S. seniors that will be entering the academies.

Millions of Americans appreciate your service and sacrifice.

I knew about the Berkley thing but I don't get the Toledo issue. From what I can gather from the article (which isn't very detailed), Marines wanted to do an urban combat exercise IN Toledo (which is a big, busy city) but didn't tell the Mayor, and the Mayor got upset? I'm confused. And yes, ultimate respect to those who serve.

The Toledo case sounds more like a misunderstanding than Berkeley's indignation at the USMC.

Thank you, as well. Compliments gladly accepted. For complaints, please see the next window. ;)

Cadets have the easiest job in the military. We appreciate it, but thank a Soldier or Marine if you see one. :)

I don't know--- I think a personnel or communication officer (no offense to any out there) has it easier than us! (7 classes + water haze!?)

^^^^^^I wasn't aware that any cadets had to pack up their gear, leave their families, and deploy with their units to the Middle East.

Those with Deployed Ops do.

Got a letter from our favorite C2C and prior service "EOD". She has volunteered for Deployed Ops, and wants to go to the UAE. Yes you can count yourselves worthy of thanks, and your job maybe learning today, but will be leading tomorrow.

Sorry this is delayed, I'm new here.
I'm from Toledo, and I'll be in the Class of 2012. It is an understatement when I say that our Mayor has very little public support in his opinion, not only because of his stance, but also due to his conduct in the protest. I haven't felt any negative attitudes in my community towards the Military except from him.
He doesn't speak for most Toledoans, obviously and especially myself. I appreciate your thanks. Rest assured that all of the Class of 2012 will exceed your expectations.
