Thanking teachers (for reccomendation letters)

So how'd you guys do it? I was thinking of giving a card or something but a friend of mine said it would seem impersonal.
I said thanks in person but it was just that. Anyone here do something to show their appreciation?

I ended up writing a letter with one of my cards and I plan on making something with a good inside joke for my Bio teacher.

I suppose my thank yous will be based on where I get in :p.

But really, I will probably give a card and a small something (now, what can I get two male teachers for less that $10 each?) a couple weeks into April.

^ condoms

lololooooooooooooooooool

I couldn't help it :] and what else could he possibly have been getting at by asking "now, what can I get two male teachers for less that [sic] $10 each?" ?!?!

Well, I could write poetry. You all know how well I do with that.

We do something pretty sweet at my school. Since we only have 180 kids in my class, at graduation, when each of our names are called, the principal talks a minute or two about each student, saying what they did at our school, where they're going to college, etc. and also ends with a sentence or two about how much a certain teacher impacted our lives. I think that would be the best form of thank you.

That's really neat, hilsa - I wish my school had that.
I think I'm going to write a long thank you note to my teachers and bake some yummy desserts for them.

That sounds really cool hilsa, In the letter I wrote, I tried to emphasize my teachers impact on me in the letter and how big of a difference she really made. It was true though. Both my teachers I have the deepest appreciation for, not just the letters but the years they taught me.

I wrote a thank you card, and bought a small gift for all my recommenders after EA results.

Wow, the ceremony must take 6 hours. Literally.

Yes, it's always 5-6 hours. But it's worth it. It feels a lot shorter than that, too.

Baking stuff always seems questionable to me, just because people vary in their opinions of food. Like, I've had some really bad cookies from my friends. Haha.

I don't think that I could sit still for 5 to 6 hours.....
I would need a restroom/stretch break or something!

I need to thank my Math teacher because I truly think that she was one of the major reasons that I got into the school that I wanted to...

If I was in the audience I would be so ****ed off at having to sit there for so long.

I'd ask to go to the bathroom, and never come back.

I'd jump off the back side of the bleachers.

I'm waiting until May to give out thank-yous. Seniors get out earlier than other grades, so I think I'll do it on our last day. Not really sure about what exactly to do, but I kind of want to write out a card/letter or go in sometime in person to thank the teachers I really enjoyed having. Sometimes I feel like teachers are really underappreciated. Like, they taught me so much of what I know, you know?

And I told myself in December I'd send the guidance department flowers if I got into my first choice ED, which I did :)
