I am thankful to Jesus for my admission into Yale College.
I am also thankful that I can be of help to you high school seniors.

The title has nothing to do with what I am about to say.
Last year by this time, I was going insane. Basically, the seriousness of my Yale application suddenly dawned on me because I became a member of this site.

But I met very good people here. I miss all of them, and wish everyone came to Yale. Why am I saying this?

Well guys, Yale College does not accept all its applicants. So while I advice you to put your heart into your application, do not put your heart only into Yale College.

Being in an Ivy League school is a splendid experience! Being in Yale is especially exhilirating, and when we lost to the H I felt a sense of pride. I can look forward to the game next year - and actually go to it too!

But being in an Ivy League school is not the only/best experience. What I am saying is that you should apply to schools where you would shine, where you would be comfortable, and where your program or department professors would challenge you. Do not apply for the name, and certainly do not apply to prove a point to someone. If you get into Yale like this, you might not like your experience.

Apply to get away from home. Write your essays knowing that you might meet this person one day, so they have to know you WELL through words. Do not be scared because your SAT score is bad. The SAT is a test of a test taker's endurance, not a test taker's aptitude. Do not rely on your GPA, or lose confidence because of your GPA. You are way more than these numbers.

I am very tired. Have been up drafting my paper for Friday. My visits to this site have been punctuated for one reason: school work blocked it from my mind. I made a promise to help, and I shall do so even if my tenses are bad, my sleep is insufficient, and my typing is bad.

Have a good application period and enjoy your senior year. You shall see a little more of me here.
