When you have bad grades, you just want to commit suicide, slap yourself, go into severe depression, thus negative personality, thus argueing with friends, talking back to parents, hating everything.

You must be a senior.....Sounds like my house....I've heard it gets better 2nd semester.....Hope so!!!

Wow, ditto. (Minus the bad grades, but still). I wanted to DIE yesterday!

I know how exactly you feel.

It all stops after you ace an test, though.

Damn, I think you guys overreact too much.

If you get a bad grade, you need to calm down and get it together. You don't need to panic and go out of control. I've had my share of bad grades, and I've brought them up. It's good to be dedicated to schoolwork, but you can't get your mind too dedicated because you will just stress yourself up. Trust me, you will do better without pressure. You need some cooling off time, or the stress will just build and build. You have to keep a positive attitude and not take your failures out on other people or you will regret that in the future when they are all gone.

^^Exactly.

Well, some of us do want to succeed, unlike you.

actually, high school grades aren't paramount to how successful you are in the future. In the end, it all depends on how you think and not how you can receive cool letters for a piece of paper.

and no--before you accuse me, I don't have bad grades; you just need to stop overreacting over simple letters.

That is so true. There are so many entreprenuers that didn't do so well in high school because that's just not where their passion lies. But, they will excel in the real world, and their passion determines how successful they are in life. Their passion can take them as far as they want to go. There's such a large emphasis placed on grades, not that that isn't good, but there's so much more to life. I know some people that live to get good grades, but they don't particularly like anything that they are taught in high school.

Get bad grades then, why panic? It changes nothing. Just evaluate your situation rationally, and focus on what you need. Stressing out doesn't help either. Just get your mind off it; literally force yourself NOT to think of it.

@ pick,

high school grades DOES matter.

High school is the first step in having an successful future... you really think a person with 2.9 avg. will be more successful than a person with an 4.2 avg.? I think not.

^It could happen.
Scenario 1: Guy with 4.2 goes to Harvard, becomes a small fish in a big pond, doesn't get into any top grad/law/med schools. Lives an unsuccessful life in some mid-level corporate job.
Scenario 2: Guy with 2.9 goes to community college, finds his passion, gets wonderful marks, transfers out to a four year, continues to stand out, gets into a top grad school, and becomes the boss of that Harvard guy.

I think, what it all boils down to is how much you want it...

I don't think that pick was comparing someone with a 2.9 GPA with someone with a 4.2. I think that (s)he was simply saying that one bad grade will not determine whether or not you lead a successful life in the future. Everyone gets an F, D, or C at some point. It happens. Becoming stressed out and letting the grade affect you too much will only hurt you more, though. Figure out what you did wrong, and change!
