That one genius kid in your school everyone knows about....

DataBox!

Represent!

I agree with Data Box's statement..lol it ****es me off when people say "do you speak hindu" -_- and we're not being mean or anything but what if someone asked you "do you speak christian" or do you speak jewish? and in response to Alex's statement..well that's your opinion..you wouldn't mind whether or not someone got it right..but there are many people out there who get dissappointed easily when someone doesn't get it right. sorry if i offended anyone but i mean this is just my point of view..everyone thinks differently

Oh get over the "Hindu" comment, if he meant it, then it's the internet and he's a retard, and if he made a slight mistake oh well...

You're only in High School once and enjoy it while you can, that means go the wild parties, enjoy the football games, engage in the social events. Don't spend Friday nights stuck in a Physics textbook.

Totally agree with this though.

do you speak jewish?

Believe it or not, people have asked me that...

no genius this time o.o last yr there was one,heh game freak and freakin smart,and prior to that there were some well rounded people too.
but this yr..meh..no one seems to stand out.

This post is funny to me because I'm taking Calc BC in the 11th grade and I consider myself an absolute idiot for it (I have a B average in it. Math classes always ruin my GPA, but I am made for liberal arts). I guess since I'm in BC as a junior, I don't think of the kids like that. And I think the slight majority of kids in BC this year are juniors.

There might be one kid who's considered our school's genius (she won teen jeopardy last year and everyone took notice, but she's incredibly modest about it.), but there are a lot of really intelligent people at my school and everyone knows, so I wouldn't say that we have one student like that at all. It's not really a part of my school's culture to have just one top student. There are always multiple valedictorians. It would be weird to have only 2 even.

There have been people who were geniuses who passed through my school. The teachers who had them in the subjects at which they were best still remember them and talk about them fondly.

Again, this is probably because of familiarity, but I don't hear that someone goes to Harvard or Yale or Stanford and think "genius!" Last year, two kids from my school who were friends with my sister (one was our neighbor, her sister attends too, and her brother went to Stanford) went to Harvard. They were incredibly intelligent, but the smartest guy I ever heard of ended up going to the University of Cincinnati.

For the people who are really into Latin plurals (my school requires Latin for 3 years, so I love it too):
Octopus ---> Octopodes
Platypus ---> Platypodes
It's because both of them come from Greek through Latin.

In my experience, there is always one kid like this. If you're still sitting there shaking your head, mumbling "not at MY school..." then surprise, it's you!

LOL Even the smart people at my school are pretty slow. I'm having a hard time with AP Physics, screw up basic algebra, and people call me Dr. ______ and pretty much worship me for taking AP Calculus BC (They don't even know what this is...).

We have one Mensa qualifier who took an entire year to do standard geometry through FLVS while going on about how great he is at math... even with his mother holding his hand he barely pulled a B and is currently failing another class--not because he doesn't care, he can't do the work.

We have a Mensa member who cannot understand our graduation requirements, what pre-requisites are, and is seriously struggling with intro community college courses.

sigh I think humanity is just too stupid as a whole.
