The '11-'12 NFL Thread

I prefer pro sports to college.
But I hate the BCS. It’s confusing and random.
March Madness on the other hand is amazing. It just draws you in.

J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!

My thoughts on tomorrow’s games:

Pittsburgh over Baltimore
Atlanta over Chicago
Cleveland over Cincinnati
Houston over Indy
Tennessee over Jacksonville
Buffalo over Kansas City
Philly over St. Louis
Detroit over Tampa Bay
Arizona over Carolina (could go either way)
San Diego over Minnesota
Seattle over San Francisco
NYG over Washington
Dallas over NYJ
New England over Miami
Oakland over Denver

The Seahawks offensive line is… unfortunate. All I’ll say about the matter. May well be the worst offense in football. Defense is probably league-average (slightly above against the run, below against the pass), but I’d be surprised if Seattle finished with more than 5 wins. At least Andrew Luck is decent at throwing a football, yeah?

That all said, Seattle is mostly building things the right way. Earl Thomas is a future star. Offensive line was the right emphasis in the draft even if the specific players are looking like overwhelmed rookies right now. There is certainly a plan in place more likely to succeed than there was before the Carroll regime took hold – that plan just doesn’t include a winning 2011-12.

Pretty nice slate of games, man Indy, KC, NYG, Seattle, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh did not have good showings. Looks like the colts are gonna be a joke without Peyton. Just glad to have football back in full swing

Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and Indy got raped.
And Kansas got destroyed by Buffalo, which is especially shameful.

Uhh, is it just me or is Romo laying down when he’s under pressure? The two sacks he was pretty much untouched.

Did you see Jim Cornelison’s national anthem before the Bears’ game? Check it out on YouTube if you haven’t. It was unreal!

Cam Newton- legit or one-game wonder?

Someone should make a NCAA Football thread.

Cam Newton was against Arizona. Wait for more games.

So who watched that Jet comeback? Or you may prefer a Dallas choke.

Wow, Dallas had that game. Newton was really good but yeah it was Arizona… their secondary is pretty bad without DRC. He showed good accuracy on deeper throws and I think he and steve smith will mesh well. Having Olsen in a TE-heavy offense will help too. He’ll definitely have his growing pains as a rookie but many question marks about him were answered today.

And week 3 is almost upon us… man, I still can’t believe romo led the team to a comeback victory with a fractured rib and punctured lung… that just sounds ridiculous

Patriots ftw!! :d

Packers versus Bears tomorrow!

Nothing like some good, old-fashioned hate. ;)

Predictions?

Man oh man. Bills atop the AFC East. Cam Newton. Redskins Rolling. Lions lighting up the scoreboard. Cam Newton. Eagles and Colts suck. Cam Newton. Bears and Falcons struggling.

Cam Newton.

Newton is good, Panthers still suck.

They’ve been so close to winning a bunch of games… Newton is the real deal though and Steve Smith is reviving his career

don’t make any assumptions about the bills and lions. the bills could end up 4-12 and lions 5-11, and the the vikings could end up 12-4. sounds like a stupid thing to say, but you never know what could happen.

It’s a QB league and Mcnabb isn’t how he used to be. The Vikes need a big time QB.
