If you are, you surely have heard about Brett Favre being in the news like every day (well, non-football fans still hear his name a lot), but he just signed a 2 year/$25M contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

My first reaction to the news this morning: "Great. More Brett Favre coverage. Is Rachel Nichols there yet?"

I'm tired of him changing his mind every 3 minutes too, and am glad he actually may have decided to stay put for several months. Next summer we will surely go through this saga, and let's enjoy some quiet time, no Favre decisions for a while. No more sightings of him on his tractor in Mississippi lol.

So, my questions are:

1) Do you like the Vikings' chances now?

2) Do you (like me) believe that they will win their division?

3) Are there a top 4 team in the NFC?

4) Do you think they have the pieces for a Super Bowl run?

5) Is Madden 2010 a good game?

I am soooooo happy that the NFL season is getting closer to beginning, how about you guys? No offense, but baseball can get really boring at times. Football has much more action, and let's get ready for the season! :) Discuss away....

Wait! He is coming back? What?
1)No, I think the same thing will occur as last year for Favre, he will play well and then they will do poorly at the end.
2)I have no idea, but if they do, they will not go far in the playoffs.
3)Possibly, but I don’t think they will win it.
4)No way! It will be the Colts(haha, wishful thinking) and the Giants. (I’m probably way off lol)
5)I have no idea, I’ve never played it.

I don’t like watching baseball either so the football season will be a nice alteration:)

Haha lol, yeah, Wartsandall, he flew on the Vikings’ private jet to Minnesota today to sign the contract, practiced with the team, and had his first press conference like 20 minutes ago.

Lol, I wish it was Colts vs. Giants You’re a Colts fan too?

They’ll win their division, and maybe 2nd round of the playoffs. I think the whole season hinges on if he gets hit like he did last year. Albert Haynesworth tore Favre’s bicep last year. Haha, I asked about Madden out of curiousity, probably won’t get it. Haven’t bought Madden in years.

Wow, I missed that:/ Didn’t he say just a couple of weeks ago that he was done?lol He has never been able to make up his mind. Yes! the Colts are awesome, and it would be cool to see a brother against brother super bowl:) I guess with Terrell Owens they might be able to get to the playoffs, but I don’t see them going too far. Go Colts!(Please don’t get my hopes up and then lose to the Patriots:/)

1) Good Brett Favre is a lot better than Good Tarvaris Jackson, but Good Brett Favre is about as dependable as regular Brett Favre…not much difference IMO

2) Yes, but that really isn’t saying much

3) I’m assuming you mean ‘are the Vikings a Top 4 NFC team’, and I think they’re on the edge…for now I’m going to say that the entire NFC east is better and vikings are #5 or #6

4) Healthy Adrian Peterson and a good Brett Favre could do it, but I don’t think that’s likely…

5) No idea. I have a Wii and the Wii version is apparently very arcade-like, doesn’t have Franchise/Superstar mode, so I’m stuck playing Madden 07 from the GameCube when I want a Madden fix :[

^Agreed, divison title is very likely, but I think that the Giants and Eagles are better than the Vikings. Washington and Dallas do not seem capable of making the playoffs IMHO. Cowboys do have a talented bunch, as do the Redskins, but now you can’t stack the box against the Vikings. Play action all day if Brett has a healthy arm all year long. I put them at 4-ish, behind Giants, Eagles, and Dallas. I put Washington at #5. Excuse me for making 1 typo, my bad. My brother has a Wii, and now I know to never play Madden on it. Thanks! (sorry for it not being good).

Lol, Terrel Owens plays for the Buffalo Bills haha! The Colts don’t have him. Their key receiving corps is Reggie Wayne, Tony Gonzales, and Dallas Clark.

What? It said on the news that he was going there:/ How odd, are you sure? The Buffalo Bills? How random lol, that’s a big change from Dallas! That being said, I don’t think Minnesota has a chance now:/

Lol, I’m sure he left Dallas for Buffalo. He got cut by the Cowboys, and not many teams wanted to take him. He is talented, but as close to a tirade as any player in his generation.

The Vikings are contenders, but not a lock for a deep playoff run.

Wow, that’s surprising no one wanted to take him. Dallas still wanted Tony Romo and he attracts media attention. He should go to Oakland! lol, they need some help. Thanks for the confirmation!:)

He’s had a horrid track record for blowing up in QBs’ faces for not getting enough balls or when the team starts losing. Lol, I said Oakland too! Tony Romo should be gone next year if Dallas goes nowhere this year. I mean last year the team was plagued with injuries, but the man needs to perform! I wonder how much he will miss T.O., but Roy Williams may fit the bill nicely. Your welcome :)

I have to agree with you will Terrell Owens. lol His whole idea on how his other team mates were formulating plans and schemes behind his back was a little ridiculous lol. Right, he should do well in his place. Poor Detroit:/

Lol, I didn’t know whether to laugh or turn off the TV when I heard him say those things! Detroit should win 1 game this year, so at least they will improve. However, I don’t see Buffalo making the playoffs, so TO will implode soon enough;)

I know, I didn’t know whether to feel bad or laugh when he was crying:/ I hope! That was pathetic last year lol, worse than Oakland! I’m surprised there aren’t too many people responding to this:/ I thought there would be more. Maybe they already knew what happened?

Maybe I should have made this at 11:00 when I first hear of it? I don’t know, I thought that it would get off-topic and become a general NFL chat or something. Lol, the crying thing was ridiculous! That show he has on Vh1, narcissistically titled, “The T.O. Show,” features him crying non-stop haha. Anytime it’s on, and I bother to watch it for 5 minutes, he is always tearing up lol. I would have hated to be a Lion last year :(

I agree(with not wanting to be a Lion haha). Off-topic…Did Marvin Harrison get let go from the Colts? I thought he was good but he was in his late 30s:/

Yeah, I know. The problem will be if he actually decides if he “wants” to play. Money shouldn’t be the issue. Let’s hope he stays there, does well, and retires for good!!!

@Wartsandall: Marvin Harrison was released by the Colts becuae he was goign to make $9M next year, and he was nowhere near worth that money for his current production abilities. He has yet to sign with a new team, possibly because he is currently consumed with legal issues stemming from a shooting that happened on the premises of his car wash in Philly. Apparently he may have shot the man or ordered someone to do so.

Remember how Favre did all those great things with the Packers?

Yeah, his legacy has been destroyed. It was sort of kind of not really funny last year when he unretired, but this is just ridiculous. Today on ESPN, they showed an interview with Favre from February quoting him as saying that there is no chance he’d unretire again. And then he said he wasn’t coming back three weeks ago.

Watching Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, T Sizzle, and company eat Brett Favre alive in the Metrodome will be glorious. I hate Favre with a passion and seeing my team just destroy him will be fun. Nobody runs on the Ravens so AP is no threat. I highly doubt we will lose that game.

Madden 2010 is awesome. I’ve got it on PS3 and there are obviously some early issues to be worked out. However, they should be fixed by the first patch. Get it.

The Eagles are unstoppable in Madden. I’m like 2-6 against people playing as the Eagles online. Vick + Westbrook + Maclin + Jackson is insane.
