This is a fairly simple situation

ACT Composite: 34
English: 34
Math: 34
Reading: 32
Science: 35
Essay: 10

SAT Total: 2170
Writing: 710
Math: 790
Reading: 670
Essay: 9

I am definitely sending my ACT scores. Should I also send my SAT because of the 790 math score?

I wouldn’t bother. A 34 Math ACT is fine.

Okay but I need every little advantage that I can get.

Would sending the SATs be at all beneficial? or could it even be detrimental seeing as how the score is lower?

Probably depends where you are applying. In the Northeast, I really dont care wat other people on these forums say…the SAT is the most common test submitted and thus is the one most admissions officers are familiar with and I would say prefer.

I am applying to Cornell, however they get so many thousand of applications that I doubt they could be unfamiliar with the ACT

I think you’d be fine submitting both, but if you look at conversion charts, a 34 of the ACT is higher than a 2170 on the SAT. The SAT score is fine for submission though, and I think the score breakdowns show your strengths in different areas. So I’d send both.
