The AP Euro History Study Thread

Who were the leaders of Existentialism (Hee, my teacher hates this movement, but the AP test seems to love it)?

Nietzche, Camus, Kafka, Sartre

Name the cities in which a revolution was staged in 1848.

Ooh, ouch. Erm, revolutions of 1848: Paris, Sicily, Berlin, Vienna....I'm probably missing some.

Oh, Budapest, and Praque too I think. Practically everywhere.

Really freaking out... I cant seem to get straight what ruler ruled when and where.. since everyone has practically the same name..How do you guys do it?? Does anyone have a list of all the important rulers we have to know and where they ruled?

Who was Nikolai Bukharin? What did he do?

Bolshevik who used terror to remove Stalin from power...right?

Name some reforms made by each of the following:

-Peter the Great
-Louis XIV
-Joseph II

only remember two peter & louis

peter the great
- taxing serfs to bring revenue to Russia banks
- established centralized bureaucracy
- built st. petersburg to copy style of Western states
- built first russian navy

louis xiv
- created centralized monarchy
- divine right notion
- build Versailles to keep aristocrats in check
- intendant system of middle class to run actual gov't
- mercantilism to centralize french economy
- sweep calvinism out of france

all i can remember atm... who was joseph ii? can't remember :( all i know he was an enlightened absolutist/despot lol

ALSO QUESTION: in PR, it says that the test doesn't ask you anything war-related... does that mean it won't have a lot of stuff about WWI and WWII?

Joseph
-freed the serphs in austria
-established freedom of press
-religious tolerance
although infamous for his brutal secret police who enforced his rules.

Good Luck Everyone!!

Who were three major utopian socialists?

brook farm, onieda, and one more that i cant remember.. lol

oh my god the test is in exactly 3 hours. ready for this!?!

Utopian socialits were the writers who most influenced Marx, in his views so he would develop what we know today as communism.

now it's only about two hours away. i can't wait .

How did everyone do?

I just took it. I had to guess on around 15 questions, but I did very well in the DBQ, very good in one essay, and alright but not too great in the other essay.

What scores do you need to be in the range for a 5? Or a 4?

DBQ was the funniest! Everyone in the room laughed for a good two minutes before REALLY starting

The multiple choice were HARD, but the DBQ and Free Responses were a little on the easy side

Yeah. HAHA, i opened the essay booklet thinking, "oh boy, what kind of obscure and difficult topic will it be?" THen i see it and wow That was pretty funny. ALmost everyone had a good laugh whne they saw it. I did well on the DBQ i think and maybe on the essays but the MC was killer. All the old AP tests MC i did ok on, but this one was really hard. I think i got like a fifty percent on it. hopefully there will be a large curve lol

LOL, that happened with us to. As soon as we opened the green insert, we all started laughing. What an obscure question! I think I did really well on it though. But when I first read it I thought I was screwed. I know nothing about...erm...the topic! We hadn't even mentioned that once in class. Like the one on festivals and carnivals a few years ago. Hehe. :) I brought in a lot of outside information, which kind of surprised me, but it was other stuff going on in the period that was relevant but wasn't directly associated with the topic, though the focus of the topic was reflective of the outside stuff. Yeah, sorry for the vagueness, but those who took it will know what I mean.

I really really rambled on the last essay, because the topic I chose was so broad, so I might get a few points off for organization, but other than that I think it was okay. Which essay topics did you guys choose? Almost everyone I talked to at my school chose 3 and 7, but I chose 2 and 5. Heh.

MC were a little hard though-harder than the 2002 exam, which I took yesterday to practice (and got over 80% of right), but I think I still did okay. I skipped two though. :/

yeah i was suprised too when i brought in a lot of outside info. I did 3 and seven too, both were not too bad but i had to BS just a little bit lol.
