*** The AP European History Practice Thread ***

That’d be nice to hear. Thanks for your input. I heard of NEP, but never really read up on it. I guess I should do that.

Yea. Def try to know about Lenin and Russia at that time period!

33/38, just finished about 5 weeks of self-preparation. Amidoinitrite?

On a more serious note, historyteacher.net has a pretty good EHAP section with multiple choice and fact recall sections for 25 different sections of European history.

^^I’ll make sure to check it out.

Which city held the Pan-Slav Conference in 1848?

A. Frankfurt
B. Vienna
C. Budapest
D. Prague
E. Belgrade

Hint: Based of the location of the cities, you should be able to eliminate 3 of the 5 choices.

^Total guess: Prague?

B. Vienna

I assume that the Slav was an ethnic group that lived in the Austrian Empire at that time. And Vienna was a capital of Austrian Empire.

However, this is a guess, so I am liable to be wrong on this one.

The Slavs were an ethnic group that was in the Balkan areas. You know, the whole Yugoslavia stuff and the Milosevic guy after WWII?

The 3 cities that I mentioned that could be eliminated were Frankfurt, Vienna, and Budapest. The only 2 Slavic cities were Prague and Budapest. Budapest was ruled by the Ottomans in 1848 and were unaffected by the revolutions. The Slavs held a congress in Prague so that they could try to break away from the Austrians. So the answer is PRAGUE.

For those of you who trust Wikipedia: [Prague Slavic Congress, 1848 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Prague Slavic Congress, 1848 - Wikipedia)

^Hmm, I thought Prague sounded Slavic. :)

Do we have to know a lot about the Hundred Year War? I think that its pre-1450, but, if we do need to know a lot, can someone please give me an overview?

Also, could someone explain causes/results of the Thirties Year War? Greatly appreciated :D

The only things I remember learning about the Hundred Years’ War was each side/who won and a little bit about its significance in Europe.

However, I’m 99% sure that the earliest event the test covers is the Renaissance, so you are probably fine.

If I recall correctly, the Thirty Years’ War ended wars over religion in Europe. I don’t remember too much else in terms of causes/results.

Just took those practice questions that someone posted, got 26/38 after only a few days of studying, not bad I guess. Still got almost 2 weeks to study lol

No need to worry about the 100 years war, we start with the Renaissance.

YES! I just finished da textbook. I’ll start reviewing by myself tomorrow with the Princeton Review. My school also started last week a 2 hour prep session after school each day that I will start attending this week.

But for now… off to study for my Chem midterm. Yuck.

I just got 27/38 right on that practice section a couple pages back. Better than I thought I would at this point. Need to up my score a bit, though–not to mention I’m not positive I can get an equivalent score on the essays.

okay yeah I’m kinda feeling the same way right now… hopefully I’ll be feeling better after all my studying is done; read through one text book (finished) read through barrons book (mostly finished), reading through Modern European History as review (doing now), and read through EHAP Crash Course (will do when it arrives). I am hoping to be over-prepare, because, RS3014, I share your same worries about the essays :/

Is REA a good test prep book?
I borrowed it from a friend, but I haven’t really started with it yet.

I just read through the one for US government and politics and, after only having skimmed princeton review before, I feel like I’m completely prepared for the test. They’re very concise, and repeat key information several times-- pretty much the perfect cram study guide

No such thing as too much preparation… all I’m looking through is a review book I bought through my class, which isn’t ideal, but at this point I think it’s enough of a help. Plus being honest with myself I can’t focus enough for multiple prep books to be worth the cost.

All I can hope is that the essay options include some of the stuff I am getting down in detail. Worried they’ll unfortunately pick something I haven’t focused on.

31/38 on the sample questions at AP Central. Not too bad but not too good either.

^ how you get 31/38? :(even after taking it a 2nd time I got 19/38. ■■■■■…
