I found out a few hours ago that my school doesn’t have unweighted GPA- great, I thought at first, but now, I’m not sure.
I am interested in medicine and want to apply to BSMDs, but need a pretty high weighted GPA for consideration because I have no proof of a perfect 4.0 or something near that. Therefore, I am reconsidering how many APs I should take because my school has rules that make me take a minimum of 6 CP classes (gym, art, etc). I am aiming for a 4.7+ GPA
APs
Sophomore
AP Statistics
AP Biology
Junior
AP Chemistry
AP English Lang.
AP Calculus BC
AP Environmental Science (lol, need to boost GPA tho!)
AP US History
Senior
AP English Lit.
AP Physics
AP Spanish
AP World History
Self Study:
AP Psychology
I am predicting nothing less than maybe a B+ in these classes, so can someone predict my GPA? Thanks for reading my rant, I really want to stand a chance!
@suzyQ7 did my confusion give it away? yes, I’m a freshman. I also have just contacted my math supervisor and asked if it is possible to take precalc in the summer to move ap calc to sophomore year. It would be ab though, I could never handle BC without in school precalc! Also, I realized that this list is extravagant, so I am considering cutting out WHAP, thoughts?
The AP race/collection competition is over. Don’t take summer courses, focus on ECs (whatever you enjoy - including medical stuff) during the summer and at night and don’t over extend yourself in class with too many APs. Get As in your APs and sleep every night. 2 APs sophomore year, 4 Junior, and 4 Senior is PLENTY. Choose the ones you like.
Edited to say- its WAY better to take 4 APs, junior year and get As and 5’s, than 5 APs and get some B+s. Plus, you can focus your time on ECs… especially medical ones since that seems to interest you now.
