Q: What were the main issues during Jackson's presidency?

The rebellion in Haiti also raised concern in the South. They were rather frightened of a similar uprising there.

Jackson's presidency contained Indian removals and the Trial of Tears, nullification(Calhoun's Exposition and Protest) and debates over the spoils system, oh and Peggy Eaton too.

What was the Teapot Dome?

The Teapot Dome was a scandal during the Harding Administration. I don't remember the exact details, but I know that Harding was never implicated. I believe he died before it became public.

Teapot Dome was where this oil field was put under the jurisdiction of 2 members of the Harding administration. Basically, some corruption was involved in a deal with a private oil company. I believe the land was given to the oil company in exchange for some under-the-counter money, and the oil company, with a monopoly, overcharged consumers. One of the guys became the first cabinet member to be sent to jail, or something like that. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. :]

GinPA: it was a colonial war with a mighty Indian chief that they called King William
[/QUOTE]

no...the "William" in King William's War refers to King William III of England..
ur thinking of King Philip's War...where King Philip (Metacomet) was an indian chief

sorry im not trying to be rude..just want to clarify that

The "Ivy League" schools were originally built for whom?

To-be Christian ministers. Well, Harvard was anyways. Dartmouth was an Indian school. UPenn was founded by Ben Franklin, and it was the first nondenominational college, I believe. Princeton was for a town of princes! (jk!)

Bringing down my question from the last page....

But what kind of Chrisitan ministers? (be specific :))

Puritan ministers?

Hint: think of the era

Protestant? Methodist? Baptist? It's something about the Great Awakening I know...

hmm can't think clearly right now. might i request another hint?

Evangelism have anything to do with it? blah

Hint: think about the Great Awakening, what two classes of ministers did this yield?

hmm, so i guess harvard churned out 'traditional' ministers, rather than the New Light, new-age ministers? yeah, i basically feel like an idiot.

Wow, so close. The Ivy League schools built during the Great Awakening were meant to train New Light ministers, rather than the Old Lights. (don't expect anything this specific on the AP test)

I'll ask the next question if that's ok, since Genesis didn't post one

Q: Why did Carter transfer ownership of the Panama Canal to Panama in 1978?

Oh, whoops.

existentialism - a belief that all human lives had some kind of pattern, like anxiety, fear of death, etc. It also asked questions like 'why do humans exist?' Is that right? I'm really not sure, lol. If it is, go ahead and continue with my question above :)

Gah, i knew it was one or the other.

A: umm, b/c Panamanians rioted and commited a bunch of violence in protest of having a 1-mile-wide swath of US territory across their country (Carter's foreign affairs was my hw this week :)). idk if you want any more specifics?

Q: what group opposed the TVA wholeheartedly? why?

Other electric companies because they said the TVA was taking their business..even though these companies hadnt build their lines in the area, and had no intentions to

What was Bacon's Rebellion?
