The Bacon's Rebellion was a rebellion led by Nathaniel Bacon in 1676 in Virginia against governor William Berkley's benign policies toward the Indians who constantly raided the homes of the frontier settlers.

What was the Leisler's Rebellion?

Leisler's Rebellion occured in 17th century. It was led by Jacob Leisler who seized control of lower New York.

No questions, so....What was the Essex Junto?

If I recall correctly, the Essex Junto was a plan to secede from the Union before the Civil War during the early 1800s when the Federalist Party was still "alive."

ya Burr was like, i think ill take over this part of the country while im still VP. Needless to say, he was fired

Red Scare?

The americans were paranoid about communists after WWII where the US and the Soviet Union were the two world super-powers

Lincoln's goal for the Emancipation proclamation

There was also a red scare after WWI.

Phoenix257,

Lincoln intended for the Emancipation Proclamation as one more option for the seceded southern states to re-enter the Union, which was his primary goal all along.

buuuuuuump

I'll post another if no one wants to:

What were the "Pentagon Papers"

Walden was by Henry David Thoreau by the way(in response to a post a couple of pages back)

The "Pentagon Papers" was a 7,000 page top-secret Department of Defense study of American involvement in the Vietnam War. It outlined that the government had deliberately expanded its role in the war by conducting air strikes over North Vietnam and offensive actions were taken by U.S. Marines well before the American public was told that such actions were necessary. All of this had happened while president Lyndon Johnson had been promising not to expand the war. The document increased the credibility gap for the U.S. government, and was seen as hurting the efforts by the Nixon administration to fight the war.

Who was Horace Greenley?

Horace Greeley was nominated in the 1872 election against Grant. Having been alienated by the corruption under the Republican Grant administration, some Republicans formed the Liberal Republican Party and nominated Greeley. Democrats helped support the Liberal Republicans by backing Greeley.

What were the original intentions behind the formation of the Pennsylvania and Virginia colonies?

Pennsylvania: Haven for Quakers
Virginia: economic oportunities

What was the impact of Fordney-McCumber Tariff?

For the Emancipation proclamation question, Lincoln's main intention is to steer foreign (British mainly) support from Confederacy and for Union

During the Republican Harding administration, the Fordney-McCumber tariff (1922) raised tariffs to an all time high. The tariff also allowed the president to fudge rates by as much as 50%.

Following Q courtesy of Princeton review:

Margin buying contributed to the stock market crash of 1929 because it

A) required investors to purchase only high risk volatile stocks
B) imposed high interest rates that discouraged trading
C) prevented traders from learning the true financial state of companies in which they invested
D) allowed traders to pay for stock with projected future profits
E) mandated that traders sell a stock as soon as it started to lose value

I think it's D...but I"m not sure. Someone else can post the next question if I'm right

Following Q courtesy of Princeton review:

The election of 1824 marked a turning point in presidential politics because, for the first time,
A) the presidency was won by somone who was not a member od the Federalist Party
B) a presidential and vice-presidnetial canidate ran together on one ticket.
C) all the canidates campaigned widley throughout the states
D) political parties officially participated in the election
E) the system of choosing nominees by congressional caucus failed

I guess C is the answer.

Adams didn't. I would say D.

It's E I believe.
