Can some of you share you interview experiences? Share some tips about what to include/attire? Also is a student resume required for the interview?

Hi, there is no need for a resume. My D came prepared with a resume and transcript but the interviewer refused to take it. Just be yourself. They want to know about you - beyond what they can read on your stats. Good Luck!

It’s also a wonderful time for YOU to ask questions about Barnard. Read up on the school first and then ask things that pertain to what you think YOU will be doing there. For example, if you are a dancer who really is “into” academics, ask about that…how intense is the training…how do you manage your time, etc. I only use that example because it’s exactly what my D wanted to know. again, do your research. Don’t ask the typical “is it hard to meet boys at a women’s college”, but consider what YOU really need to know.

My daughter did not take a resume, or any other materials. She wore a simple casual summer dress. She had a half hour with an admissions officer, not a student. She describes a fairly straightforward conversation about her academic and non-academic interests. Her experience was very warm and fuzzy, and she felt more enthusiastic about Barnard coming out than she had going in. Extremely positive experience.

@VSGPeanut101 Thank you, and how long was her summer dress (if you remember)?
