Did any of you 4-digs encounter things that you were just unable to do during beast? If this happens do you just continue to try until you get it right or what happens?

i think everyone does at some point. depending on what the thing is depends on what happens:

-in some courses, failing some events are okay, as long as you pass a certain number
-during pt, everyone eventually breaks. then you either keep trying no matter what, or have ppl help you

pretty much just don't give up, and do yourself of getting into shape in the next 2 months

You'll most likely encounter things that will give you some difficulty. But yeah, what they want to see is effort. They could care less if you are struggling at push ups, but they really care if you are trying or not, and you'll be able to tell. Just give it your all in everything, and don't worry about what else happens.

Yes, there are a few things that gave me trouble. I always struggle with diamond push-ups. The one course obstacle that got me was "the Weaver" on the O-course (although I had a slightly injured knee at the time).

Moral of the story, don't give up and ALLOW YOUR CLASSMATES TO HELP IF YOU NEED IT. In BCT and the school year, I had a couple people around me that REFUSED my help when they broke and would KICK or PUSH me away when they did need help. Others I helped when I could and the teamwork as a whole was noticed. Also, I know I can rely on those that helped me to help where their strong and I'm not. Everyone has strengths, help others with yours if you can and let them help you with theirs. It took too long for many of us to learn this but when we did, we were golden.

To repeat what others said, you WILL break, its a matter of when not if. When you can't do anymore, TRY and they will let you be.

when hornet said golden he meant red. lol. "sir i am stained by the blood of my enemies". good times

umm actually "TYLER"..haha...meant "golden" when he said it. He's allready realized that the class of 2011 is superiour then those things/cadets??? with the color red of 2010....hahah GOLDEN CLASS WHOOP WHOOP ;))

caleb, you better watch yourself. we gots friends in high places ;) too bad the color actually looks **** yellow, especially the blanket

Ouch. Try telling one of the current firsties that, though. ;)

I remember hearing somewhere that the original color was supposed to be ... "mustard yellow......?"
Well anyways, I saw pictures of one of the obstacle courses that had a giant wall basics had to jump on top of and climb over. Some here can testify to how difficult that one will be for someone of my....stature.
Are we allowed to have help from our classmates on that one? Because some people said they just failed it but ...I think a boost might be nice. :D

I don't think so.

But, due to a major's death on an AF obstacle course (not here at USAFA), yall have a modified obstacle course with nothing higher than 9.5 feet. So, sorry, but most of the fun/tall obstacles will be replaced by more beating.

even the confidence course? 9.5 feet is still almost twice my height -_-

yup. That means you lose a lot of fun stuff if they don't change the rules back before then. So sad.

wait so their going to be removing more then just the one obstacle...:(

plenty will be gone, we have some high ones.

bummer, i hope they change the rules back. the obstacle courses just look soo...."beastly." It just won't be the same experience as everyone else, I don't think. yes, bummer indeed.

AH whatever, I'm sure it'll still be beastly, you'll probably just have to do more grenades ;). And the A-Course is still as beastly as ever, I'm sure.

wow im really dissapointed now..this sux.

Don't worry about it, They'll make it just as bad, who knows, maybe even worse. I just know that it was terrible before they changed it, and the obstacles were kindof like a break in between the other beatings. You guys will just have more "normal" beatings, which is in my opinion much worse than the actual obstacles.

lol, How in any way is that a statement that should be preceded by, "Don't worry."
