The Best Freshman Housing

parkised double, 1st choice

Not sure if I'm going to USC yet, but I went ahead and wasted my $25 and sent the housing app.

I put Parkside Suites as my first choice, and Parkside apts as second.
(Since I would be doing Engineering, Parkside is the nearest housing to Viterbi)

Parkside Suites is my first choice. I want a single though. Because I talk in my sleep =P But I'm obsessed with wanting to get into Parkside Suites. I makes down all my first choices for the various rooms in Parkside. Heh, its pretty funny. Next would be Flour Tower, and then Birnkrant. But I want Parkside sooooo much. My parents won't let me live in an apartment for some reason. I sent in my request yesterday. Does anybody know if its first come first serve?

Yeah, they say it is. Good luck :)

What makes Parkside special....I'm thinking of birnkrant or pardee.......im a balance of social and academics, but I want to have some time to study too =) which which which!

I'm pretty sure you can get Parkside. They house the most freshmen I believe.

Parkside is the newest housing facility on campus, so in that respect its special (and I think the building is pretty). It also houses the best dining on campus. But it's also kind of in the boondocks with regards to the rest of housing, and especially freshmen, and nothing else is really over there (unless, of course, you are an engineering major). It also isn't as social as other freshmen housing, since it is suites instead of dorms.

Yeah, I have barely ever heard of people choosing Parkside first choice...If I was going to live far away from everything again, I would still choose Century over Parkside.

where do all the asians tend to live (the ones that are actually social and part of the greek scene)? i hear they're all holed up in one place. or maybe that's not true.

Im chosing Parkside

Parkside is actually very hard to get into because it is very popular. A lot of people make it their number one choice. Many people are amazed when they here about the Radisson option because it is a 5 star hotel, so imagine Parkside, which has a hotel feel. Sure, it's far from everything...but hey, you get your daily exercise!

oh dear...how fast will dorms fill up??? what if i won't nkow where i want to go (i'm still deciding between SC and UCLA) till 2 weeks from now? is it worth sending in the 25 dollars and my 1st/2nd choice dorms anyway?

Well, since it's only $25, I recommend that you submit the application now before dorms fill up, so if you do decide to go to USC, you would have one of your top housing choices.

thanks for the advice uscdude!

to eveyroen else i found this useful site:
http://housing.usc.edu/program/resCollege.htm

i think north appeals to me most.

nevermind birnkrant does and then north LoL

are there sorority/fraternity houses? obviously you can't apply for these, but i'm just wondering. i know the greek system is pretty big at usc.

Yes, there are houses.

North 1st choice: (Mainly because of the business level)

Can anyone tell me anything about the other dorm in the Dean's Hall? How is Marks Hall in comparison to Trojan Hall, or even to the other dorms in general?

Can current USC students help?

I need to choose a housing. I got accepted to the Marshall school, so i want to live near it. also i want to able to study when i need to and party when i want it. So i want a life of balance between social and academics. which freshmen housing suits my style the best?

all advices are appreciated. please give me advices and comments.
