When I was going to be a doctor (all my life up until last year), I was going to attend Columbia in New York. Great school.

Harvard and Johns Hopkins are generally considered the top 2 Medical Schools in the US. After those two, you have an additional 10 or so excellent medical schools:

Columbia University
Duke University
Stanford University
University of California-Los Angeles
University of California-San Francisco
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
University of Pennsylvania
University of Washington-Seattle
Washington University-St Louis
Yale University

Other good medical schools include:
Baylor University
Case Western Reserve University
Cornell University
Emory University
Mayo Medical School
Northwestern University
University of California-San Diego
University of Chicago
University of Pittsburgh
University of Washington-Seattle
Vanderbilt University

Where is Mayo?

I believe it is in Rochester, Minnesota.

thankx .. theses r great options
so i would like to know where do u advice me to take the pre- medicine programme ?
and is boston university a good choice ?

Try the pre-med board at the follwoing link.

Holy Cross in Worcester, MA has a very high rate of sending graduates onto medical school.

You know what they call the person who is last in the class at the worst med school in America?

Doctor

Anywhere you go, you will get a superb education, and be set for life in terms of job security and salary. Your reputation has nothing to do with what med school you attend, but rather what kind of doctor you are.

Potentially. This is if you complete medical school, get a residency, get a job, and keep it. Life as a doctor can be very tough, and there are many variables on the path. Medicine is a changing field, but it is very possible that successful graduates of medical school have a good chance of being at least financially stable and successful.

However, I have, since I've remembered, liked that joke.
