<p>Go you @MissSuzyQ ! Sadly, at my school, smarts isn’t a fast-track to popularity, although two kids in my AP Chem class were nominated (but lost out to another couple).</p>
<p>In Spanish 3, we have penpals from Spain (my Spanish teacher works with a school in Spain when she coordinates the Spain trip) and it turns out that my penpal and I share a fandom!</p>

<p>@LosingCrayon considering the number of fanfiction sites devoted solely to it, fanfiction.net’s 695K (and growing by the hour) archive, Pottermore, the insane amount of fan art, very active Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/etc. fan pages, and a spinoff due out in 2016, I’d say we’re still around (and this is normally the point where I’d start making fandom-related puns and jokes, but I don’t want to spam this thread with too many irrelevant comments).</p>

<p>Are you considering getting contacts? 
I wore glasses for about a year and a half, but then I just decided I was going to get contacts I’d forget to bring my glasses to school often and when I found my glasses a few weeks after I lost them (in the driveway, crushed by I’m guessing the car), I just decided contacts would be a lot better for me. I’m kind of glad I got them, because I used them for the demonstration speech in Speech class and got an A :3 </p>
<p>I went to Homecoming on Friday. It was pretty frickin’ awesome, even for an awkward nerd like myself. </p>
<p>@HopefulStud I also went to Homecoming this year, and it was my first one, considering I am also a nerd. </p>
<p>Anyway, I absolutely love all the positivity in this thread! It is so good to see support for achievments. At my school, most students give insincere congratulations, if any at all.</p>
<p>But I got my ACT score back, and I got a 36 on the English section! I know it may not be as exciting to the CC commmunity, but my school typically does not have high test scorers. I also got an 800 on my SAT writing, so I was freaking out about my ACT English score!

<p>As for Lasik, @emenya , it’s a good option for some people but others (like my stepdad) have prescriptions so bad they aren’t eligible, so there’s that. </p>
