Cornell people seem to be very social, so I was thinking it would be cool if there was a more social, chatroom style thread where we can talk about the less-stressful parts of life as an opportunity to de-stress as opposed to freakin' out about grades, stats, etc.

Since I'm on the website, I will start the thread with this:

Has anyone purchased any Oakley products? I have 2 pairs of their sunglasses, and one pair of work shoes, and they are amazing. In my opinion, Oakley is one of the most reliable, quality-oriented companies I have dealt with. My friend has a jacket and it is of incredible quality and durability, and their new sunglasses (a combination of MP3 player and high-performance optics) are AwEsOmE! The sound is excellent!

Oakley stuff is nice. So are sunglasses. My current arsenal consists of 4 pairs of Oakleys and one pair of Armani's. Oakley sunglasses seem about $50 overpriced per pair, but i can't find any other brand that has been so consistent with quality over the years. It's nice stuff.

ooo, Good call... Armani is sweeeeet. I love their rimless sunglasses.

Just another thought, does anyone on here like cars?? I bought my first car the summer before my junior year with money I had been saving since I was really young (about 9-10). I was thinking about getting a new car while in college, maybe a new Acura RSX (whatever year it may be at the time).

The new Civic Si is basically replacing the RSX...but anyway, why get a car in the middle of college, especially if you already have a newer car? Just wait until you are out...or I would anyway.

This thread is kind of funny, heh...but anyway, how much sleep do you guys normally get? I've been busting my ass for all these non-Cornell apps due December 1, getting like 5 hours of sleep for the past 4 nights or so and I'm exhausted. I've nearly fallen asleep in English every day this week, heh.

All my friends are getting their driver's licence as soon as they get outta school... They tease me because I won't be able to, since I'm still 17 (have to be 18 in my country) and I'm a year younger than everyone else.

Anyway, I'm not really a car person. I get carsick and for some reason my left butt cheek hurts if I sit still for more than twenty minutes. Bad circulation or something, most likely.

luckily in Cali, you can get your permit when you're 15 1/2, but since i've been a slacker, i've waited till now... hopefully it'll go, good cornell, pass drivers test, buy car!

i want a janky, old VW cabriolet. anyone have suggestions for very affordable cars? automatic, probably, no other preferences... no SUVs, etc.

lol canadian's drivins system's complicated. I only bothered doing the paper test.. havn't bothered with the road ones yet; (btw why is there a exact same post in the columbia forum ... same person?)

Back to the Oakleys: I have a pair of Square Wire 2.0 sunglasses w/ blue lens, Racing Jacket (bendy floating and awesome), A-frame goggle (carbon w/ mirror lens), and A-frame in gold w/ mirror lens (and a clear lens for night). quite the arsenal...

I've got a pair of rayban prescription sunglasses too...

I don't like how people have the image of skiing as rigid, for old people, not cool, not progressive, incapable of tricks, etc.

Just as snowboarding has a pure apline race side, skiing has a freestyle movement, which is actually much more popular than alpine race snowboarding appears. It seems like every serious kid on the mountain is riding twin tips these days unless he's on race skis.

Speaking of motor vehicles and Cornell, could anyone tell me how hard it is to keep a motorcycle there (living on campus) during a spring (and summer if I do the eng. coop) semester? I know a lot of people have said cars are kind of a pain...are motorcycles any different or would it be the same arrangement?
