The classic Industrial Eng + Economics?

Well, I am considering pursuing this combination. I know it is ambitious and unlikely to happen; I am simply looking at options for when I enter college. I am for sure studying IE as my "original" degree.

At UF there are two economics degrees - BSBA or BA. The business version requires one or two fewer economics classes, but it requires some finance or management courses. If I were to double major with this degree it might work that the business classes fulfill IE technical electives; however, some of the business classes will be additional work.

If I were to pursue the BA degree, it may flow easier. The requirements are basically some math and then a bunch of economics courses. The math would automatically get knocked out (and more) with my engineering degree, but I would have to take around 6-7 economics courses. The work here may be annoying due to the fact the economics classes do not really fill any elective stuff for general education classes.

So I am thinking of at least attempting the business degree, but I really do not know which would be better. I can give specific degree lists if you ask.

In your experience and professional opinion, what is the better choice for a double major?
