I am an A student with the acception of mathematics, but I am in the advanced program.
I have SAT score of 1750.
590 in math, 590 in reading and 570 in writing.
I play varsity soccer 3 years and junior varsity golf 2 years.
I do community service at the library.
I am a member of multiple clubs for 3 years and I babysit for 4 years.

I am a rising senior, so this college search is definately taking over my life!
I really could use some help.

Am I wasting my time with this school?
Should I even bother applying?

BTW (It is my favorite one I have visited so far! So I would definately apply early admission!)

oops i forgot to add my GPA! I have a 3.5 unweighted and a 4.5 weighted.

Chances? Good or BAd?

I am currently undecided for my major as well…

I am a rising senior from New Jersey as well. As a matter of fact, I don’t even wanna set my eyes on it even though we have similar academic profile.

Because it is not a goood school? Maybe I should reconsider… lol

Definitely not. With your Sat scores and considerable community service hours and extracurricular activities, you should at least try to apply Rutger.

Thanks I will consider, is Rutgers more or less selective in the applications?

Obviously Rutger is more selective. If you are thinking about majoring on engineering,I strongly recommend you to apply for NJIT or Stevens.

TCNJ is much more selective than Rutgers.
Percentage accepted TCNJ :47 Rutgers:59

SAT scores representing the middle 50% of first-year students’ scores:
Critical Reading: TCNJ :560-670 Rutgers:520 - 630
Math:TCNJ :590 - 680 Rutgers:560 - 680
Writing: TCNJ :560 - 670 Rutgers:540 - 640

As for your chances for TCNJ , you are in the 25-50 percentile for test scores , so TCNJ appears to be a slight reach. Sciences , Biology specifically are in high demand and entrance is more rigorous. Early Decision may help.

Good luck , TCNJ is an excellent state school.

Yeah TCNJ is the more selective school out of the two it just doesn’t have the same national recognition as Rutgers.

You need to improve your scores if you want to get into TCNJ.
I think you can get into Rutgers-Newark as is, New Brunswick may require a little more.
Both are great state schools.
