I actually don't know of that school tlaktan. Do you know of The Oakwood School? We are a small private school in North Hollywood (down the street from NoHo High). Good luck on your apps. What is your first choice? I am going to be attending Columbia in the fall.

Actually, I have heard of the Oakwood school. A few of my teachers from long ago taught there. (I do know of NoHo, though.. ha)..

My first choice is Georgetown, from where I was deferred. I've been accepted to Notre Dame and Michigan but I'm waiting on like.. quite a few more colleges (mostly in liberal locations, I love a political challenge).. hoping to major in Int'l Politics or Poli-Sci, if anything.

To say the least, it's very tough. I go to a very politically liberal school, and the quality of education is excellent there, despite what many people say. I know when to keep my mouth shut, and I know when to open it.

We run the gamut as far as political beliefs go. We have the far, far, protester left, and the far far, right-wing-nutjob right. Liberals outnumber conservatives at least 5:1.

Congrats on Notre Dame and Michigan. Sry bout Georgetown. Yeah, we sorta run to get food and then run away from the NoHo kids. It's sorta funny...and sad at the same time. Politics is a passion of mine, pretty much solely because of this election and now I have a definitive stance on my beliefs (unlike some of my liberal counterparts...) If you want some non-commercial media info, you can go to www.ospr.org and click on the archives link. This is our biggest political group on campus. Some of the info is pretty interesting to read about and brings up issues that are not talked about, or hardly talked about in the news.

I enjoyed that long argument back and forth. (although i didn't see all the points proven for some people) And its great how now its just like a friendly get together.

It is not worth it to fight. Instead of fighting about issues of the past, it is more important to make sure we keep the future safe. This is why democrats are going to do everything they can in 2006 to gain some seats in the midterm elections and in 2008 to take back the white house.

The issue I am most concerned about is actually the Supreme Court. Seeing as how Bush has already renominated his 154 judges that didn't get accepted last term, it seems that he is going to try and push harder to get more christian right-wing members on the Supreme Court that wish to overturn Roe v. Wade. That is an issue that bothers me and once a law is enacted, it shouldn't be overturned. Just my opinion. Discuss.

I'm a need-based pro-lifer. Only under the circumstances of forced sexual activity and massive internal damage to the mother (if it's consensual, but it threatens the life of the mother, it qualifies too).. then.. I can agree.
