The Cornell Early Decision Misconception

My brother attends Cornell, would that help at all?

should i bother sending in a 1190 sat cr+math if i have a 31 composite? my math was a 590 that day. came in from a flight the night before. anyways. my act math subscore is a 33 and i have an 800 on math 2. any help?

…don’t send in the SAT score. You have a shot with the ACT of 31, my D was admitted with a 31.

You have to send in the SAT score. Cornell requires all scores. Anyway, Cornell should only look at your ACT score, since it is t he highest.

Yield is much higher during the ED round mainly because ED admissions is filled with all recruited athletes.

The only people accepted early decision but don’t go are people who don’t get enough financial aid.

Does anyone know if Cornell will usually go out of their way to ensure ED acceptees get enough financial aid or just no?

When I visited my friend who attends Cornell, he said that if you apply ED, they know that you want to attend and will do as much as possible to make sure you are able to. He also told me (and I know that he is middle or [most likely] upper middle class) that he is paying less to go to Cornell than it would cost him to go to a community college.
