The day is coming and I am terrified. Please take a look.

I've done this a few times before, even been told to stop because I was bumping too much, but please take another look and tell me what you think my chances are. I really don't know what to expect.

Class Rank:

This is very strange but I'll explain best I can.

Exact rank is not disclosed.
Basically my GPA is 4.04 on my school's very weird system.
The highest GPA in my grade is 4.52.
There are 24 people who have GPA's between 3.9 and 4.52.
There are 115 students in the class.
Another student is applying to Gtown EA who has a GPA of 4.35.
If my counselor chose to supply information about rank in the form of an estimate, she probably wrote that I was in the top 25%.

OBVIOUSLY MY CLASS RANK IS NOT VERY GOOD, BUT DO I STILL HAVE A GOOD SHOT? It's really weird how smart my grade is.

Other factors:
-Another student from my school is applying with slightly lower test scores but amazing grades and GPA. Would Georgetown accept more than one person from my school or is this a huge obstacle for me?

My interview went as well as it could possibly go. The interviewer said i was an "outstanding candidate" and we talked for an hour and a half.

-National Merit Semifinalist (224) with Gtown designated as first choice

I know I'm going to frustrate some people because I posted again, but this is the very last time so everyone please let me know what you think. Thanks!

bump.......................

if it helps anyone, i'd be happy to shar my essays

I don't do stats cause I don't pretend to know what I am doing but if it helps they probably made their decision about you already. It's already done just live life and know its all out of your hands.

yea im aware of that. doesnt stop me from wanting to know what to expect

your chances look great, as good as anyone elses
of course, it's a crapshoot
good luck!

What do you want us to say? We know as much as you do about your chances. Trust your gut feeling...

You'll get in. Guaranteed or your money back! Biggest weakness I see in that application is the second essay because I'm sure Georgetown gets thousands on that topic.

I'd love to take a look at the essays, they sound interesting. For your second essay, if you've written it tastefully, it won't matter much at all that others have written about. If it is truthful, that will shine through. I still really beleive it's not what your write about but how you write it, and the number of previous seniors getting into top colleges (including Georgetown-SoFS), in my school, with a similar policy is telling.

Good luck, and tell us how you have done

"Georgetown looks very closely at class rank statistics and actually reports class rank figures as opposed to GPA figures. The average class rank of admitted applicants falls at the 94th percentile. A student who is not in the top 10% of their graduating class will usually have an uphill battle gaining admission. Georgetown looks closely at how a student ranks in comparison to his or her classmates. Georgetown deals with many high schools that do not rank. Their reading process is in-depth enough that they are able to get a good handle on where a student stands through the use of school profiles and the questions they ask on the School Counselor Report form. They will not recalculate rank but rely on information provided by the school to place a student within their class. As long as the secondary school is providing good information, an unranked student will not be handicapped in the process."

Oh cool! I'm ****ed!

there goes my chances

Dude, CHILL OUT.

Akajjred, I totally agree with him. This is my finals week- and all I can think about is getting my Gtown letter. It has not helped at ALL on my performance.
