The D's Waitlist

i'm starting to think that they sent that e-mail to waitlisters who won't be offered admission...

Arachnophobia, what exactly did the letter say?

Dear Slim2None,

I realize that it has been quite some time since you were first offered a place on our waiting list, and I'd like to give you an update on where things stand with our entering class.

Currently, the number of students who are planning to enroll at Dartmouth this fall is slightly over the figure that we originally anticipated. As the summer progresses, we expect this number to decline. However, it is not clear whether or not we will be able to make any additional offers of admission.

Should additional places in the entering class become available, we will review your candidacy along with the other candidacies of those who have chosen to remain active on our waiting list.

You have been very patient as the weeks have passed, and I sincerely appreciate this. My hope is that we will be able to resolve the status of your candidacy within the coming weeks.

If you would prefer that we not consider your candidacy any further, it would be helpful to us and to other candidates if you withdraw your name from our waiting list. If you would like to withdraw your name from our waiting list, you may do so either via email to admissions.office@dartmouth.edu or by logging into the Dartmouth Student Information System at the following url:

http://www.dartmouth.edu/apply/admissions/status/

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us by replying to this email.

Thank you for your patience and we will work to bring our waiting list activity to a close as soon as possible.

Sincere regards,
Maria Laskaris
Dean of Admissionsand Financial Aid

did not everyone receive the letter? It is very deceptive

Hey guys, I'm not fresh., but I'm on the transfer waitlist. I'm just curious, how long has it been now, almost two months since you were placed on the waitlist? Did they give you a time table in your admission decision for the waitlist? When I got mine a week ago, they said sometime after May 29th I should hear something, but I have not a clue how this process works.

Slim2None, I got exactly the same letter (word for word) that you posted.

I got the same letter too, I have a feeling we may not make it :(

dont be pessimistic!:)when there is life, there is hope..hehe

hmmm, waning but holding on to a strand of hope.

hold on tightly then..

any updates?

Here's something interesting I came across...

International Counselor Waitlist numbers

This was a couple of weeks ago...

Does that mean there are only 20 internationals on the waitlist ???out of1500??wow..thats pretty small.
Btw,i called them and they told me they still don't know what will happen.thats really frustrating.

so who's international here? i know i am.

me as well...

hey guys! my friend got an email todays saying that he was accepted! he sent extra material but didn't pursue really aggressively because he thought he didn't have a chance. don't give up hope!

So what school is he going to turn down now for Dartmouth?

It seems that they are taking just US citizens off the waitlist..thats not just for dartmouth though:(
Ive still not heard of any international getting in out of the waitlist..huh.

is anyone else SICK of waiting??? jeeze. i practically don't even care at this point, i just want to know and get it off my mind

R. Ballard, was your friend an fresh. admit, or transfer?
