The English requirement

I know most med schools have a one year English requirement. Does one year of college writing count? I don't know if any of you are familiar with Penn State's classes but we have to take a year of writing. One semester containing English 15, and another containing English 202C (which is writing for science majors).

There is a pre-med advising office at your school–please ask them, rather than random strangers on the internet. It’s their job to know this stuff.

I can’t speak specifically for these courses (wowm is right that only the pre-med advisors at your school can), but my memory is that this is more or less a pretty lax requirement in that as long as the courses are given through the English department or are otherwise specifically designated as English/Composition heavy, it’s fine.

No. Not at my campus

Then email Main Campus’s pre med advising office and ask them. It’s their job to answer these kinds of questions for the Happy Valley campus denizens as well as those at all the satellite campuses.

Here’s their contact info and instructions on how to get your questions answered:

P.S. Get used to dealing with them since PSU uses a committee letter and you will be dealing with them ALOT in your future.

The best is to contact Med. Schools’ adcoms. My D. did specifically for English (and Math) requirements. She got answers very quickly. They are very helpful.

I did they said yes
