*The FIRST thing you would DO if ACCEPTED*

Hmmm...well for me, after going through all the drama of rushing to apply ED, getting deffered, preparing slides, having an interview, writing a sappy (but heartfelt) letter, all my test retaking, missing my birthday, homecoming AND the international karate championships for the SATs - I'd probably put on a very satisfied and thankful smile.

Then....promptly about 5 seconds later I would

SCREAM MY HEAD OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

(and look forward to meeting all of you guys)

i got deferred too; i’d probably go see if i got accepted anywhere else whether i got accepted or not.

haha. my reaction won’t be far off from rach’s!

lols… same

Hmm…screaming will deff come first, followed by tears and prayers with a zillion God-thank-you-s:)

I swore really loudly when I got a likely letter.

And I never, ever, ever swear. My (much) younger sister in the room was startled, to say the least lol.

was that a happy swearing? lol

My reaction will be similar to Kevin Lee’s Columbia Acceptance(Youtube it)

Scream
Cry
Call my parents
E-mail the professor I worked with over the summer
Call my best friend
Repeat first two steps
etc…

Of course, I’ll be crying for other reasons.

Lol - I really should have my camera on for the entire evening of March 31st

I probably won’t be able to do anything for at least a good half hour besides sit there, shocked, numbed, and humbled.

^^^^ditto.

^^ same. Maybe in an hour my motor functions would return.

Miss the beginning of school, go to NYC, buy a Columbia hat, and return to school late.

i would scream probably. and then go tell it to my friend who got a full ride to ucla on a regents scholarship just to repay her in kind. :)

When I got my thick letter in the mail, I looked at the letter very closely to see if it said “We regret to inform you…” When I saw that it didn’t, I hugged my grandfather. Then I went to school the next day and thanked my teacher (a Columbia grad himself) who wrote my recommendation. That was over 25 years ago. Pre-email days, of course.

as you can see, james is a dinosaur :P

IDK, I usually don’t show that much emotion. I’ll probably smile, and do an epic scissor kick after asking my mom to move out of the way. Then I’ll sign up ASAP for an admitted students weekend.
