My high school does not report GPA or class rank, and I don't want to have to indicate that I am most likely not in the top 10% of my class, or that my GPA is below 3.5. I realize that they could calculate GPA but am I missing an option to opt out of this conundrum?

“My high school does not report GPA” perhaps because it knows colleges recalculate GPA anyway, to make sure they’re comparing apples to apples.

You shouldn’t worry about this. Attached to your transcript is a school profile that your high school sends, which explains the school’s grading methods. Frankly, a check box isn’t going to change your chances: the reader will see that your school does not calculate GPA, and that will be that.

My guess is that if you’re school does not report GPA or class rank, you must submit one of the testing options (APs, SATs, graded math exam and english paper). However, the best way to find out would be to give the Admission office a call or email the Office. Considering how close you are to the deadline, I would submit testing.

“the reader will see that your school does not calculate GPA” which would be ignored anyway, since the college doesn’t know the formula used nor which classes were included. The transcript contains what the college needs to know about grades.

Thanks. Yeah, this makes sense. It’s pretty silly of me to worry so much about a checkbox.
