The Harvard Dream

Harvard has always been my dream university. I am currently a Sec 4 student and next year, I will be studying in a Junior College (High school year 11 and 12) before going to a university. I just wanna ask you guys for some tips so that I can get into Harvard, my dream school. I am thinking of joining Student Council and Debate club. What do you guys think? Moreover, does being involved in researches and training camps help to increase my chances?

Also, can you guys recommend me a good book to practice for SAT? Thanks a lot. I appreciate every advice.

Why? What does Harvard offer you that you couldn’t find at Yale, Princeton, Stanford or 20 other colleges? When colleges rejects 94% of applicants, you need to broaden your search and your dreams.

@gibby is right. Why Harvard? All Ivy League colleges are incredibly difficult to get into and are all great. If you want to get into Harvard you have to give them a good reason as to why you chose them. The SAT? just buy the college board book. Also, what is Sec 4? If your not in the U.S and you’re applying then your going to need stellar grades and lots of EC’s that show you leadership skills. Thinking of student council and debate will not cut it. Also win numerous awards if you can. One more piece of advice, Have you thought about cost? Are you looking towards Harvard because of prestige? If so, I would not bother applying. I’m sorry If I was mean, but honesty is good.

@Blue4940 @gibby Thanks a lot for your advice! Actually, getting into an ivy league college is already good enough for me. Its just that I do not know where to start and what should I do to improve my chances.
