stops grooving to 1.FM Dance One radio

Oh…yeah…maths board exam…
:P

(But seriously, I cannot study maths without music)

^ Me too. I got John Mayer on loop. :D

And pixie, I’m anything but prepared. :|

^ 6 pages and you’re already digressing from college-related talk. DO NOT.

Talking about APs, upcoming exams and how to deal with the tension and handle preparation falls under college banter, as far as I remember. ;)

Search your name on this. This site is for admitted students/faculty. I tried a few of my friends, all the ones that I thought should get in, are there.

I read about this on berkeley’s forum.

:|
I’m not on it.
So much for UCB.
sigh
Moves on.

itsmylife, some of your friends’ names are really there ?!! With the UIDs and all ?

Wow this sucks. Getting to know officially that you’ll not get in and still waiting for a confirmation.
Well then … my college quest is pretty much over. Berkeley was the last worthy college whose decision was still awaited.

^ yep, two of my friends who probably had the best chances, are there. But this is obviously not confirmatory in any way. One might argue that Cal is uploading the names alphabetically, or maybe this is just a botch-up.

I suggest we wait 4 for more days for the official decision.

Technut: I did see your name there.

@compscifan - I don’t have a middle name.

@Everyone

This year’s applicants are listed from 925869 to 942357.

I say this because before that you’ve got other entries, with @berkeley.edu email addresses as well, and 925869 onwards, we’ve got ALL CAPS naming conventions with no personal data. The trail ends at 942357.

That’s 16488 possible acceptances offers.

I ran several random checks in the middle, and cannot confirm, but assume with reasonable confidence that it’s a continuous list of names.

UCB’s CDS states that ~10,500 students were admitted last year.

If the trend is to be continued, I think that it’s unlikely that all of the people who’re showing up are necessarily admits. Just my two cents…

(Cross posted this at the UCB thread too)

My name isn’t on it.

VM, I searched this user called “mynameisv” on the directory and his name was up there. Funkysatmonkey’s name (cornell ed) was there too. Chelsearox’s (penn ed) name wasn’t there. Chelsea has five 5s, 3 A*s in A-Levels, top 5% in ISC, 95% in icse and some research work on prosthetic limbs. If he didn’t get in, none of us would have. So the hypothesis at this stage is that they’re still uploading the names. VM, you’re good enough to get into Berkeley too. I’m pretty sure that they haven’t uploaded all the names.

Uh. Who the heck is VM?

VM = itsmylife99

Technut, is your name on it?

No. It’s not.
MATHS EXAM TOMORROW PEOPLE.
FORGET ABOUT THIS.

OMG. My name’s there. I didn’t apply.

Hehe.

From thetechnut’s analysis it seems to make sense that the list is not significant… I did find two likely candidates on that, but did not find other candidates who I feel are equally likely.

My name isn’t there!

I’m definitely not the strongest applicant out there, so I wouldn’t fret over them not taking me in. But a big part of me still says that this can’t be real!

Also, some very qualified applicants I know were not there.

@debarghya, huh? I guess that clears it then. Did you apply to any other UC?
