I've seen a few of us who were.

Well, were you?

I've seen a few of us who were.

Well, were you?

I wasn’t interested in the slightest

I didn’t have the credentials to be interested.

It’s a joke here anyhow.

I was admitted!
But so many kids GOT REJECTED! I couldn’t believe it. In my Algebra 2 Honors Class which has about 38 Kids in it 2 of us including me got in. Who knew it was this Selective? It feels as if this is more selective than the IVIES. I’m switching to a brand new high school that is being built and making a bunch of the students at my school to switch schools. NO SENIORS COMING! Which means I get to run for NHS President as a Junior. :)

This reminds me I have to bring in cans for NHS.
Lol I forgot about a meeting and carelessly went to lunch and went oh ****! NHS MEETING! But it was to late… Now I’m freaking out they could kick me out, but I did attend the meeting before that. Luckily that was my 2nd meeting and attended the first! But I prey I won’t get kicked out for missing.

I made it in easily…but i feel like they actually LOWERED the credentials at my school for getting in. i mean, last years class had 20 members and my class has 50. and some of them got C’s and have no brains whatsoever so it doesn’t even make sense

I’m 13th out of 579 students and I got rejected! But I didn’t care at ALL.

I got rejected. I was definitely much more qualified than most of the people that applied and got in(like, some people got in that virtually have done 0 community service). My theory is that they just reject random people so they can make it look like they’re selective. I don’t know if I should bother applying to the Language Honor Society b/c I know that I’m guaranteed to get in. I forgot, I also thought that it was unfair that I attended 2 dialogues to help boost my NHS apps and I did the Leadership program thing. Time wasted…

NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE!!! how did you get rejected, especially bigwill? we have 210 in our class and everyone in the top 50 made it in, even though some are ■■■■■■■ who dont give a damnabout anything

I have no clue xAAAx. The must have some weird criteria for choosing people. I wasn’t the only person in the top 50 who got denied, quite a few did. And it makes no sense because not only are we high in the rankings, but we also have good ECs and volunteer hours. Strange…

Maybe your essay wasn’t what they wanted…

That could possibly be it. Who knows? Lol. I know for one thing, I’m not going to bother applying for it next year. I’m already in NTHS (National Technical Honor Society), and I’m involved in many ‘technical’ activities.

We had probably two thirds of applicants get in, maybe 100-120 students. Ours isn’t that selective (but they’re supposed to be bumping up the requirements next year).

to hell with NHS, i reject them. But I never applied and I am a senior so whateva.

Leadership? I’m vice president of my class, first chair clarinet in marching band, student body president, president of my school’s LEO Club, and active member of the paper/environmental club.

Scholarship? I’m number 8 out of 225 and single-handedly have more APs under my belt than any other junior.

Service? I have to have at LEAST 250 volunteer hours in.

Character? I’m late to school everyday. Reason for rejection, no doubt.

Lame.as.hell. I don’t understand the NHS in the slightest.

worst situation was when #1 of 400+, a junior from my school, who was amazing at band was rejected. strangest things.

^ Their loss, for sure.

Uh, explain this:

I have a 4.0 UW GPA. All AP’s/Honors classes. Valedictorian. (1/500ish, but ties with a few other people)

I got a 34 on the ACT, both times.

I STARTED a school club that has become quite successful and has branched/began clubs in other schools

I have like 90 hours of community service + a nearly full-time job

I’m a varsity athlete

I’m heavily involved in extra-curricular activities.

I’m generally a pretty nice and energetic person

…But I got rejected from NHS.

It didn’t really bother me at first, but then when I saw some of the kids who DID get in, I felt insulted and I REALLY wanted to go ask the teacher who made the decisions why i didnt get picked.
But I didn’t.

I’m very mad.

But then again, nothing like that will EVER get me down =]

…And I don’t wanna get up early for the meetings.

So yay for getting rejected from NHS.

We’re all in NFS, national failure society.

**** the NHS, they don’t take AP courses into account when regarding GPA.

I have a 3.5 GPA atm, I have taken 11 AP Tests.

**** the NHS

The NHS adviser said that he was willing to go over my app with me to see where I went wrong, but I was so ed off I didn’t bother showing up. It’s just not fair. I was like 100x qualified than most.. I also noticed that most of the asians got rejected (I’m black) and I think most might have gotten in only because of their conncetions. I was taking the most rigorous courseload available too…

They don’t give us a choice if we want to join or not, they tell you that you’re joining. Doesn’t matter, though. I got kicked out for never attending meetings.
