I was just wondering who doesn't study the night before. my apush teacher told us not to study the night before. this just seems crazy to me. its home stretch why not just finish strong? the reasoning my teacher had was taht we know all that we are going to know and we should stop stressing out. i completely disagree with this statement. i in fact studied for the apush test the night before and as i was going through my REA book i found some details i havent noticed before. i also feel like i got a few more right on MC's just from some random stuff i remembered the night before.

what does eveyrone else think of the idea of not studying the night before?

studying the night before DEFINITELY helps me. last year, i crammed for APUSH until like...3AM. if I didn't do that, im pretty sure i would have failed. lol

but i think it's different for everybody tho. cuz i have good short term memory.

I know waht you mean, Nicole. I also got some right on APUSH that I would have otherwise gotten wrong. What I hated was when my parents were telling me (at midnight) that I needed to go to sleep...Yeah, sure...I need to learn more, but I'll do better if I just put down the book, without ever reading part of it, and just going to sleep. I bet the answers will just embed themselves in my brain while I sleep. It makes me mad. I'd rather study and have less sleep than just get sleep and go into the test completely dumb on some subjects...

Of course you should study. It'll be in your short-term memory and help you refresh your memory. If it's AP or SAT or college or whatever, it'd be suicide to NOT study the day before. lol. :)

i think the ideal situation is you dont wouldnt NEED to study the day before, meaning youre pretty much good with all the material. of course you can review, but you also should sleep earlier so you dont forget all the stuff you learned.

I usually START studying the day before. I just cracked open my Cliffs Biology book a few hours ago. I guess I'm kind of screwed for the AP test though, considering I'm pretty much learning most of the material for the first time today. Oh well, I hate biology.

grays : that's exactly what our AP Chem teacher said - watch as movie on Tues night. haha.

I'm a natural born procrastinator. I normally START studying the night before, or at least have half of whatever book I'm using to cram through. (whoah, a quick re-read of this thread before I posted and I realized that volte said the exact same thing..)

Is last night cramming effective? I wouldn't know; I've never tried the other method.. :)

A funny thing though - I was STILL studying for AP US on the way to school to take it.. and on the test there were at least 3 questions that I had just read during that 10 minute drive; I was like YES! and kind of laughed during the test.. Oh man. Good times.

i dont agree with your teacher...i think studying the night before is the most effective way to better your score. thats so stupid to say that if u dont know it u wont know it later? uhh duh u will thats why ur studying

Good luck all taking Physics exams i hated regular physics ugh damn metric system plus i wasnt in calc so i kinda screwed myself ova. anyway yeah procrastination is the key to success!!!! we all do it :D

yes. studying the night before helps me too. although i wouldn't stay up too late studying if i knew i was going to be too tired to concentrate during the exam.
