The Indian Class of 2016 Results Thread

Hey you all.
I was going crazy trying to find out results scattered all over different threads so I went ahead and made this thread.

I suggest we follow the following pattern to keep things simple-
Accepted:
Rejected:
Waitlisted:
Comments/wishes/complaints/anything else:

Would also REALLY appreciate it if those who applied for FA could mention the packages they received from different colleges within brackets or something. We're Indians after all, and money is a big deal for us :p

Good luck for college!

Accepted: UCB, UCLA, UCSB ($15K1), UC Davis, RPI, Drexel (16k5 + 3 coops), MSU (1k1), Drake (12k4), UMass ($10k*4), CU Boulder, Rutgers NB
Rejected: MIT, H, Y, Dartmouth, Penn, Cornell, four LACs (LACs hate me :O), Purdue, Madison, BU
Waitlisted: UChic (the only WL am pursuing), CWRU, WPI

Comments/wishes/complaints/anything else: Yea, I applied to way too many schools, fearing I’d get in nowhere. REALLY really want the UChic WL to work out. Otherwise, it’s most likely Cal and a hugeass debt :(

Accepted: HKU (entrance schol.), Lafayette College, Sarah Lawrence College(presidential schol.), DePauw Uni(some merit schol.), Kansas Uni(KU-IIE Schol.)
Rejected: Tufts, 5 Ivys (:’(, even more painful since my Yale interview went brilliantly)
Waitlisted: UChicago

Anything else: @canhazphysics: same here with the Chicago WL. Have you done anything to pursue it? And did you apply for fin aid?

@fall2016parent: thank you for the summary!

any further updates? May 1 is gone. People stopped visiting once they got accepted. Any of you still awaiting India entrance exam results before making US decision?

dancingjuicedesu, I sent in another essay and uploaded some writings to my Chic account, but they’re apparently not taking anyone off the waitlist anymore, this year. Sucks.

F16Parent, I’m still here :)

Accepted:UCSD, UCLA, Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley, Brown University.

Waitlisted: Columbia University and Carnegie Mellon University.

Rejected: Cornell, UPenn, Stanford, Caltech and MIT.

Comments: I was surprised at Cornell’s decision and CMU’s decision - but that’s college admissions for you. Also, I’m actively pursuing the Columbia wait list. Sent in 3 meaningful updates. I’ll probably go there if I get in.

f2016parent

As per the Ivy conditions, one cannot hold any other place anywhere after May 1 other than the college accepted unless on active wait list.

[Common Ivy League Agreement](<a href=“Apply to Dartmouth | Dartmouth Admissions”>Apply to Dartmouth | Dartmouth Admissions)

So, it is not possible for Ivy folks to await entrance results before making the US decision …

Hope this will help,

Accepted: Stanford, Brown, Dartmouth, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, UCLA, LSE, UCL, Warwick, University of Edinburgh (the last 4 are in the UK)

Waitlisted: Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Cornell, UChicago

Rejected: Harvard (deferred early decision), UPenn (Wharton)

As Fall2016 mentioned, I will be attending Stanford after a gap year.

Good luck folks!

I think I have posted before, but still here it is:

Accepted: Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, UIUC, Michigan, GTech, Wisconsin, UCB, UCSD, UCLA

Wait listed: Caltech, Yale

Rejected: MIT

Heading to Princeton! But yet to complete my boards!

Good Luck to everyone!

Just out of curiosity, what made you pick Princeton over Harvard and Stanford?

Accepted: UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, GTech, UIUC, Umich, UT Austin, CMU

Rejected: Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Stanford, MIT, Cornell, Columbia.

Accepted: Brown (deferred ED), Tufts, Wesleyan, BU (merit 20k*4)

Waitlisted: Pomona

Rejected: Stanford, Yale

Been in HK for last 5ish years but hey I’m still Indian at heart
Crazy, crazy happy right now. Brown was always my dream school and I think actively pursuing the deferral helped. Congratulations guys we made it! The next 4 years are going to be absolutely incredible :)

Here’s an update for the wait lists:

UCSD, UCLA, Georgia Tech, UC Berkeley, Brown, Columbia
MIT, Caltech, Penn, Cornell, Stanford, CMU

In retrospect, should’ve applied as a creative writing major and then change. Not to say that I’m amazingly happy with what I have :)

Guys can you list your scores (standardized tests and school) and EC’s please? I’m going to be a junior this year and I’m curious about how you guys got into schools considering I want to go to either Caltech/Stanford/UC-Berkeley.
Thanks B|
