reliance connections arent too bad in hyd. atleast at the webworlds

LOTR is good. just dont make the mistake of watching it on one of those pirated cds which were made by videotaping the thing at a theatre - otherwise you'll just see a lot of black and hear a few murmurs.

whats wrong with xp this time?

LOTR is beyond good. You havent lived till youve seen it (Maybe slight exaggeration but im a diehard LOTR fan). Either way, you have to watch it.

Since this thread is dead and all the old people have/are left/leaving, I was wondering if we should all leave some words of wisdom for the indians(sub-continent) class of 2010 about applications. I'd propose that all of us post 3 advice for juniors. All the 'regulars' who dont post anymore, comeon post 1 more time coz by sharing our experience we dont have anything to lose

From my experience, i'd recommend to

A. Apply to as many schools as you possibly can. 15-20-25, just apply coz they cant offer you admission, if you dont apply

B. Dont apply for financial aid unless you need it or more than you need it

C. Do PR with college admission office, admission counsellors, current students, alumni, etc. That is the most under-rated tactic of the whole admission process.

a. Start your essays the summer of senior year becse you are not goign to get time to do them properly after it.

b. Even if you apply to 10-15 colleges ( ideal number i would say ) be sure to apply to some good safeties as well no matter how good your stats are not everyone gets into hymps. You are sure to get a quality education as well as lots of scholarships

c. If you have the finances be sure to apply Ea/ Ed to your favorite schools.

Oh yea I am back :)
