kindly post your comments.

I am sorry nblueblaze none of us can give you any idea. We all are HS Seniors. You might want to try the Graduate forum.

Hey shruthi and shreya, you both applied to UW-Madison na? Has your status changed? Mine's still the same..

Btw check this out.. I booked a premium single for myself incase I decide to go to UW-Madison.. $100 refundable deposit..

Lucky 101 : The new alternative to the UW-Madison dorm : Madison, WI

Apartments right in the center of the university campus :D

Thats awesome :D
Don't you want to experience traditional dorm living, though?

It's like a hybrid.. apartment style dorms.. and it's just for freshmen.. :)

They have a "Residential Life Program, with floor programs and parties and plenty of chances to make the friendships of a lifetime. The kind of fun that keeps you in on a Friday night".. that's pretty much traditional dorm life, with added luxury :P.. and it's bang in the center of the campus, so it's like across the street from the meal halls and stuff :)

Their regular singles look good too, I think I'm gonna e-mail them to change my app to those.. an apartment shared between 3 ppl, seperate bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen etc

Ooh that's pretty cool!

@S33D: I didnt apply to UW :D

Lol ok.. got confused :P

Guys, tell me some good music to download!

(I like Hindi, pop, alternative, indie rock, soft rock and punk)

The Perishers - Trouble Sleeping
Joshua Radin - Don't Look Away
Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life
Youth Group - Forever Young
Placebo - Running Up That Hill
Incubus - Drive
Dios Malos - You Got Me All Wrong
Better Than Ezra - Overcome
Cartel - Honestly
Nickelback - Photograph

...enough? I guarantee you'll like em :P

I love Photograph!

Will download the others. Thanks! :D

no S33D- it hasn't changed for me either- wierd cause i was checking the UW madison thread and a lot of people got their results within two weeks of applying even at the end of feb. _ maybe they delay it for internationals.

Hey you were telling me you don't want to go to wisconsin- since its too cold.
But those apartments look really nice.

I don't really think i'll end up going there as they definitely won't match the scholarship/ fin aid that case western is giving me.
So if not to some other private college which gives me nice funds then i go to case western i think.

One of the ways I find music, is just play some random radio at last.fm (Last.fm - The Social Music Revolution) and start downloading from bittorrent once I hear something I like. Sometimes, you can get some pretty obscure, but very good music from it...

As for UW Madison. Great College, but no way. My cousin went there for M.S., and his sister is studying there now. Too much...family sense (I am not being clear, but I think you guys get my point...)

For me, unless I get into Stanford, or perhaps P'ton by divine intervention, I go to Rice (Not that I mind...Texan Pride!). If I get in somewhere else I want to go to, well, I'll have 3 weeks to convince my dad...

(Cool! I enter a URL, and it extracts the site name and makes a link! Sweetness!)

@shreya: the winters are pretty cold, usually hovering around -10 i think, but I guess it's manageable.. all the buildings are centrally heated so it doesn't matter much

@rama: family sense? that's referring to your case particularly right? or is it something in general that I'm not getting.. :S

colossal waste of time does not seem to do fiitjee justice..i.e it's a colossal understatement..:P... ..have been doing prac JEE papers for 7 days now its an absolute nightmare! seems like all of idiotic organic chem is leaking out

Hey rama_GB, a few things:

Did you get a likely letter from Rice or something?

What about MIT, Caltech and CMU? (Forgive me if I missed out other top CS schools)

How was physics?
