Long time indeed, isaac! How have things been?

I agree with issac on the no coaching thing o.O

@Gary: in that case you can apply to u mich....merit aid can cover up
and ur 11th and 12th marks are important too....esp your mid term class 12 grades
and don't worry NTSE, KVPY are good (i din even do that much :P)

as for stats....mine pale in comparison to ard. and vandit but well here goes
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/carnegie-mellon-university/673781-official-carnegie-mellon-university-class-2013-rd-decisions-thread-9.html
last post

what it doesn't mention is my marks....10th was a 92.4 after a 72 in english (whole school got screwed cuz of the checker)
and a bunch of poetry, quizzing, creative writing awards+my academic certificates

When it comes to the EC's - remember, quality always trumps quantity

IIT coaching is screwing me too...horrible grades in 11th...but I need to continue for the sake of the money

my "quality" was in my writing and athletics related ec's :D

Just as mine are all my sports, my leadership, MUN and environmentalism. A few dedicated EC's really do go a long way :)

You guys do realize that 11th marks are uber-important, don't you? Unless you're using the term 'screw' in a very, very euphemistic sense ;)

even my scores are screwed
i barely got 80%

I don't really have any big EC to boast about...maybe I should join the Duke of Edinburg social service or something...my school is a part of it...anyone knows that?

Do something only if you really want to...not just because it will 'pad your resume'

yes,ofcourse...;)...don't think anyone would do social service to boost their resume...they would die of boredom:)

even i havent got anything exceptional
xcept 6 debating titles(nationals)

Don't think I'll get much time either...12th will be too hot to handle

@rt: and that isn't exceptional?!

well tetris i agree with u till a certain extent, but as u said that we need to be totally devoted towards what we do
and maybe debating wont do much good since i intend to major in subatomic physics!!
well lets c wat happens.//////

Sufi's out of Roadies...*** !!!!!!
Anyways, Go Nauman !!!!!!!

wat that is a shock...........

my 11th percentage was 80
but it's ur rank in school which is imp.

and maybe debating wont do much good since i intend to major in subatomic physics!!
well lets c wat happens.//////

depend on college to college and how they see it

u r absolutely right prateek92
and i just wish that colleges take good look at me debating skills
anyways my school rank was 2/150.....

School rank paints a bigger picture than just marks so you're good then...

I'm pretty sure subatomic physicist will have to be prepared to debate some of their findings. Why wouldn't the skill be valued? ;)
