The infamous countdown to I-Day

Glad I’m not going to be there. I’ll probably be at home sleeping.

haha ill be there for cst ;[

What are the footprints?

These: [Class of 2012 Inprocessing](http://www.usafa.af.mil/cadetFocus/cadetPhotos/2012/inprocessing/pages/DRA_0659.htm) are the footprints…

IIRC, the female cadre in the picture is the one that made the basic on the bus crap his pants in front of LtGen Regni.

hahaha i heard about that

I don’t think it was my son, but I have a great picture of her and her great jutting jaw really giving him the business. I detected a smirk on his face. No good could have come of that! lol

Didn’t LtGen Regni coin her on the spot for her “achievement”?

That is correct. :)

The footprints are going to be the scariest thing any of you have ever experienced… I can personally guarantee it.

why would you say that? They only suck if you get singled out, other than that, it is just another place to stand.

Lets not “downplay” one of the traditions carried out here as it is the FIRST ground they see and touch when they step off that bus…

It does suck, but its an unexplainable suck… Just embrace the suck ;)

And I avoid 2013 for all but one day, hooray 2nd leave!!!

^^^Just don’t be the guy in the photo. Spread the suck.
But here’s some advice you WILL here again: drink TONS of water when you get here, even on I-day going through the line. Especially if you’re not from this altitude and from a wetter climate, dehydration is a big problem. It gets really hot in the summer up here and the ABU’s get hot. Also, EAT what’s on your plate. You may have to get into the habit of shoveling it if you’re not used to eating fast. However, you’ll need every bit of energy as you run the AFT literally the next day, and all throughout basic training. But please take care of yourselves, as I’m not in the mood to see any of you during basic training when 2012 become cadre.

Thanks for the advice, pssgiraffe! I’m from sea-level, and we have lots of humidity, so going to the dry altitude of USAFA will be a huge change. Plus, I often don’t drink enough water anyway, so that’s good to know. :)

My graduation is tonight. Today marks the beginning of my 3 week summer vacation until Camp USAFA.

yours is longer than mine
I get a 2 week summer

One week summer for me

that sucks,
could be worse though
I heard how some people have a 3 day summer

I talked to a girl at Orientation whose graduation was June 26th. Yup, that’s right, she was going to miss it for Beast. Ouch…

hey guys I graduate the day before IDay so I have no vacation and Mikil did we meet at orientation because I remember telling that girl we will have a graduation party doing push ups, haha
