awww, poor mateus! :P

you go down to clune, and they’ll gaggle the cadets up. then you wait 'til you see the person you’re supposed to get, and you grab them! :D

yep; prolly outta get their phone number just in case

there was an official process a while ago, but basically get in touch with them before hand, have them call you when they get to clune, and catch them before someone else does. its quite the game! haha

In the appointee packet it says that you must be able to swim 250 yards in under 9 minutes. Do they do this test during basic or after sometime? I’m not a bad swimmer but I’m curious if it is important enough for me to put some swimming time into my schedule.

75 days…

the only time i’ve ever had to swim year was during swimming class and water survival class 3 degree year. for people who either can’t swim or really struggle with it, there is an extended “basic swimming” class to teach them. so it can’t hurt, since it’s a great aerobic exercise and works different muscles, but definetely not necessary.

Navy on the other hand gets tested at least once a year, but i believe every semester on swimming. which makes sense i guess. lol

If you’re in good enough shape to get in, you should have no trouble swimming a 9 minute 250. Mediocre swimmers do it in half that time during 3* year.

If you do the 250 in 9 minutes you will fail Swimming, but maybe not basic swimming. Realize that a 9min 250 is barely moving. That is someone who can barely swim at all.

I started at a high 6 minute time, and that was doing the entire thing with the backstroke. (No, I did not do well in swimming…)

One nice thing, if you do really poorly in swimming, they put you in basic water survival (which is mostly a gut check vs. how good you are).

Happy Easter Everyone!

Tick tock… Tick tock… 74 days.

Anyways, only 34 days till Graduation!

graduation for your high school? cause USAFA graduation is still 45 days away

Thought I’d bump this up…

69 days my comrades!

Question that has been asked before but not sure if it could be answered now.

Have they released a calendar for the 2009/10 academic year? I seem to have heard they have but I could not locate it…

67 days!

Travel day is now two months away. I-Day, two months + 1.

We have another taker on the countdown! It was getting lonely…

I helped a little…a few weeks ago :P

Haha. I’d been following the thread and use packermatt’s countdown to keep track of remaining days. But now that it is 25 April (EST), might as well say that it is now 2 months to go. 61 days, 4 hours.

oh children. if you have no questions, get off this forum and stop counting down! ;)

Children… hehehe… finally I don’t feel like a grandpa!

Less than 2 months left. 54 days. Wow time flies…

it really does, I can’t believe my freshman year is pretty much over!
