Hmmm, placed on hold this past week…not sure about auditions…I think NYC Unifieds…?
Does anyone know if Ithaca MT sends out acceptances first (before denials) and whether acceptances have been sent out yet for NY Unifieds (I think I read in a prior post that in the past unified decisions have gone out after on campus decision). Thrilled for those getting acceptances since this is such a hard process, but it’s so stressful to not hear anything from their top schools when you see others being accepted and know the number of open spots is dwindling!
@MTMom98, Ithaca has sent out both acceptances and denials this year and there are still people in limbo. Some people who auditioned at NYUnifieds have heard. Your portal may change before you get the letter…I would suggest checking that.
@MTMom98 I know of a boy who auditioned at NY Unifieds with me and was accepted. When? I don’t know but it seems like they’re taking their time releasing acceptances
Not every school releases acceptances all at once. For example, Syracuse (over the past few years) has released a seemingly random mixture of WLs, acceptances and denials over 3 to 4 Fridays in March. They may have a system, but no one can figure it out. It is what it is. The bottom line is that if you don’t have a “no,” you are still under consideration. Schools take their time b/c they are considering everyone. It’s hard on you, but it’s a good thing they are carefully considering people. Break legs.
My son auditioned for Ithaca for acting at NY Unifieds and his portal changed to accepted yesterday. I know an MT from NY Unifieds whose portal was disabled a few days ago as well.
@destiny95 Re CCM, D auditioned at NY Unifieds, heard nothing until last Wednesday or so when she got a Hold. Nothing since but Hold letter said all would hear by March 1. Seems like many, but not all acceptances have gone out, and also some WL, yet many also seem to remain on hold. Can’t figure it out, but like @monkey13 says, hoping for still under consideration and/or at least a WL in the coming week, though at the same time making no assumptions. My biggest curiosity is approximately how many holds they’ve given out, but that remains a mystery too.
I know about 5 offers for drake MT, but I haven’t received anything, not even a no
@entertainersmom any idea about the Otterbein WL? D is on it for MT. How many are on it? Otterbein looks like a super program. Thank you!
@BwayMex we are waiting to hear from Drake as well. Not a peep.
I know several still waiting for CCM, a few who have been waistlisted.
Has anyone received a No from Pace? We’ve heard nothing.
We’ve heard nothing too @DanceMamaRose D is in limbo with Pace, Ithaca, and Texas State and on the Otterbein WL plus waiting on schools that haven’t released anything yet. We just need one yes… We just need one yes…we just need one yes! My March mantra.
So happy to have found this site. I didn’t know it existed until yesterday, and it is just comforting to know that I am not alone in this craziness. My D has gotten an acceptance from HARTT (BFA MT) - I was never so grateful for a piece of mail in my life. She is on hold for CCM and Rider and on the “short list” at Indiana University. She also auditioned at NYU - Steinhart, Pace, University of Miami, University of Michigan, Emerson, Temple and Carnegie Mellon. We haven’t heard a peep from any of those yet. Next weekend is Elon. She did not pass the pre-screen for Ithica or Syracuse. I must say that the passion, drive, and stamina that these kids have is inspiring.
Hi there @sleepymom - Congratulations! My D is a freshman MT at Hartt so if you have any questions about anything, feel free to message me. She loves it there and I am happy to put your D in touch with her if she want’s to know anything from a current student perspective.
@sleepymom, welcome! That “short list” at Indiana is actually their Waitlist. Hartt is a great program…congrats! Your D can breathe a sigh of relief.
Thank You!
@monkey13 Any idea of how likely it is to come off Indiana’s “short list”?
Thanks @HappyDancer98. When you say that your D is in limbo at Pace, did you get a call, letter or email?
@ChristinaCollege Indiana gives very little $$ and they are extremely expensive so they accept a large group and usually have to go into their wait list.
