Class of 2019: The Journey Continues

As folks are finishing up with final auditions and the regular decision notifications start to roll out more quickly and in greater number, perhaps a new thread is in order - not so much for outcomes (which are covered in the threads pinned above) but for ‘breaking news’. It is a shame that the school-specific threads are no longer user-friendly. I, for one, occasionally click on a few remaining schools to check for info but there is rarely much available. Anybody else game to start the ‘midway through 2019’ conversation?

My daughter is a sophomore and still a couple of years away from this process but I learn so much from everyone’s journey. Just want to say thanks for sharing and best of luck to all your kids in the class of 2019. One of my daughter’s friends is a senior this year and has been in the thick of the application and audition process for months and although she is still waiting on a couple of schools, she has been accepted to one of her top choices so she can breathe now! Fingers crossed for all still waiting!

Awesomeness vocal1046! Thank you. It did dawn on me today that the last lap has begun in a very long run/walk/gallop/trudge/crawl to the finish for the Class of 2019.

Who has completed ALL there auditions?

All Done!

We’re so close!!! I am all done my auditions.

The kid has his last tomorrow. Dropped a bunch from the list after some early responses. I think my number one piece of advice for anyone who asks will be to apply EA to several schools. Having an early read on where he stood helped my senior fine tune the remaining effort to minimize wasted time/energy. (Not that anyone asked.)

BAL tomorrow. My daughter dropped a bunch as well after her top acceptances came in, so I would second that approach. There was a bit of the “well, should I do them to see how it would have turned out?” Ah, no… We spent the saved $$$ to go to accepted student day, which was hugely rewarding as she was able to see the school joyously from a whole new perspective

Could not agree more, we did the same thing. There are some schools that are not “early action” per se, but are known to have rolling acceptances. And we were so, so glad we auditioned for those early on.

CC only allows for ONE thread devoted to general discussion for the Class of 2015. Please do not start new ones. I would merge this with the existing thread for this class on the Musical Theater Forum but the new format on CC doesn’t allow for a merge. Thus, this thread will be closed. Feel free to add these posts to the existing Class of 2015 discussion thread. CC allows one thread for general discussion as a community per class per forum, plus the acceptance threads for that class.
