the laundry machines make my clothes stink.

I'm in the cambridge community, and I was hoping someone--anyone?--could help me with my laundry issues. I've been doing my own laundry for years, but then I come here, and the washing machines don't really clean my clothes that well. any stains that were there before are still there, except set-in, even when I pretreat them. Plus, the machines always become unbalanced and make a ton of noise, but I can't find a way to stop it mid-cycle so I can rearrange my clothes.

So then I go to dry my clothes, and the dryers just smell awful. I always try and use one that smells the least-offensive, but my clothes still come out smelling like this awful B.O. smell. I clean the lint trap, I use laundry sheets, I run it with hot water and dry it on high heat, but dang it I just can't get my clothes clean! Is there something I'm missing? Anyone have any sage advice, or a similar problem?

Oh, I have sage advice that i am SO excited to share! The same thing was happening to my D right here at home, only her clothes, no one else's. Weird. I tried everything...Oxyclean, 20 Mule Team Borax, vinegar, baking soda. Nothing worked. The thing that does work is...dish soap. (We're using Joy at the moment.) A squirt in your load along with your regular detergent should do the trick. Good luck. Let me know if it works!

Lesstoil will get the stains out of everything although it may remove some of the color from some clothes.
