Too bad I didn’t see that one before son’s wedding last year! Oh, well, too late now.
The funny thing is that the Resolve email ad listing had some nice and affordable dresses too. But that first one was a shocker.
Shoot! It came in yellow! Wish I had known about this option when I shopped for my dress a year ago!
I can’t wear that slingback with the toe puff because GMOB already bought them and, given the similarity of our dress styles/colors, it would be too matchy-matchy, but I do like them. I’m leaning toward the mules with the big top bow I linked above (they look silver, but they are a very very pale blue satin) to “break it up” like @CollegeNerd67 did. But I continue to look because I have a lot of time. I plan to hang here daily to see what everyone else is doing.
I’m sad because stilettos are what my dress calls for, but those days are long past.
Happily, I just remembered there is a boutique dress shop in the mall that carries gowns and other dressy outfits. I can go there and see if they have anything promising and try different styles and colors. Who knows, I may find THE outfit there. As I recall, twice we got D an outfit there as it was the only place in the entire mall that had an outfit that would fit her with no alteration (other than me hemming it a bit). She had been unsuccessful finding anything at the larger mall.
Chunky heels are quite in these days.
I have never worn stilletos and am unable and unwilling to start now. A sprained or broken ankle is a bad look. haha!
The shoe I wore as MOB last November was cognac leather Natalia SOFFT brand (I believe are Swedish - made in Vietnam ) from Dillards.
I have a history of spraining my ankle or bumping my toe right before a huge event. I ordered several other brands online beautiful low heel shoes that I had to return because they were either too wobbly or too uncomfortable.
The wedding was the first time I wore the SOFFT. I was determined to look stylish and comfortable. It had a 1 inch heel. I literally danced the whole night away and my feet never hurt. I always wear a size 8- but in this case I clearly wore a 7.
I looked to see what sizes they come in - and it looks like 11 is the highest size.
I have these in silver and love them!
I found these silver slides surprisingly comfortable for my niece’s formal wedding last fall. (It was black tie optional, but I followed my sister’s advise to wear a solid/dark short dress and fit right in with other guests. But I did want a flashier than usual, for me, shoe). At the time I was recovering from minor Plantar Fasciitis so shopped long and hard for shoes that felt good.
We are trying to get S and fiancée to let us know colors and how they’d like us to help so we can plan. So far S says they will keep us posted. We leave for Japan in about a month and told S it would be good to know color so we can find H a suit, if we have time.
If you don’t know the bridesmaid colors by then, perhaps you could ask - “Would a grey suit be OK?” (or black or navy)
Since they just recently settled on a venue, they are probably still sorting out things like colors . The wedding is not until October, so you still have plenty of time!
I ordered this dress for my son’s wedding reception. I think it is the right vibe. I hope I like it.
Yes, I asked S if he prefer H wear a navy suit or a grey one. S doesn’t yet know. H will end up buying one if he sees something he likes and it fits and we can always rent if S wants a different look.
@tx5athome Very lovely.
@HImom , My husband didn’t get his suit and shoes until a couple of months before the wedding. And it was fine. Son and his groomsmen wore lighter blue suits and husband wore navy. He’s 6’7" so just can’t get a suit anywhere, but he had no problem (just needed a couple weeks lead time for hemming). You might want to wait until your son can tell you what colors will work, unless there is some urgency on your end?
Not sure if this site has ever been mentioned but they have some pretty & really reasonably priced options
That is beautiful! I love their things
@HImom i agree with waiting. My husband decided to get a new suit about a month before our kid’s wedding. He is a very slim cut and needed lots of alterations. Even so, he had no trouble finding a suit and shirt and tie that he really liked. He went to Mens Warehouse which is also where the groomsmen got their slacks and vests and shirts and ties….and fun socks. (they didn’t wear suits)
