the movie CRASH

"he was jealous that this black guy was with a light skinned black girl."

The cop initially thought she was white.

Gandhiji, are you some sort of expert on what a "typical" black man would do?

swbutterfly: ok sttfu and stop tryin to act all intellectual n shiit

im stating exactly what I saw in the movie. the black lady goes if you were black you would have done something (or something like that)

Oh, so THAT'S your basis for knowing what a "typical" black man would do, Ghandiji? Nuff said. Quod erat demonstrandum, since I'm being "intellectual n s***." Translation: ya mama.

It almost made me cry in the part where his daughter almost got shot. His reaction was almost as if it were real. That is great acting. I knew from the second she was running out the door that she was going to jump in front of the gun.

bump . . . . . . . . . .

only matt dillon got nominated for supporting actor

i thought terrance howard had the superior performance, though dillon was great too.

Great movie.

tiny correction: i dont think the husband who "let his wife get molested" was middle-class. They seemed to be very affluent.

Heavy-handed, overwrought, overrated.

Despised it.

I was very impressed with this movie and though I am very disappointed with the academy of motion arts and sciences. I am VERY happy that they gave Crash a nod in the best picture category. There were so many actors that were A-mazing that it seems unfair to pic a couple in the acting categories so the best picture nod I feel is appropriate.

I just watched it last night. Great movie...certainly worthy of an Oscar Best Picture nomination. I was expecting more out of Terrence Howard, but I guess his performance doesn't really matter in the end, because he's already nominated for Hustle & Flow. I was also very impressed by the screenplay. I don't know how good the other nominees are in this category, but it has a high probability of winning.

gianscolere the other nominees are good night and good luck, match point, the squid and the whale, and syriana. Pual haggis got left in the dark for his work with Millon Dollar Baby. I actually thin it could pull through with the original screenplay oscar.

I adored this movie. It made good points; that everyone gets discriminated against, that many people do fit stereotypes in someway, but that nobody entirely fits into a stereotype, so judging people based on that is quite unfair, and that no matter how often it happens, discrimination still hurts like hell.
