The "new look" CC

I like that we don't have to repeat the login name and password for EVERY post. That was annoying.

Hmmmm......it says I joined Aug 2004.

The "views" column is new and interesting.

One thing that I'd like to see is a date/time stamp on each post. If nothing else it helps to tell you if somebody posted recently and might be on-line or if a given thread is moribund.

Oops, now I see the time stamp above. But it's wrong....

Now I am listed as sgiovinc1 as I had to reregister. Too bad those old posts are gone. They were great, especially the gifted and talented thread. Hi, to all my OLD parent buddies...I have been posting since Spring 2004....we'll connect again on this new site, I am sure. And how are all the kiddies out at college these days??? Haven't heard from my D at CMU for a week....sigh.

Yuk!!! They list your age....proud to be over 5o. You do get a different perspective on life!!! HA!

The old posts are still there, sgiovinc1, at the "Classic" College Discussion Forum. Feel free to restart any good conversations here, and you can even link back to the old thread for the benefit of new members.

Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!
formerly Barrons

All I know is I almost experienced severe withdrawal last night night when I could not locate the old CC board. It is funny to see some of the old time posters listed as new members though! HA!

Okay, to people who know more about message boards, these may sound like stupid qustions. but here goes anyway:

Why do the first few threads on each forum have open envelopes and bold titles, while the rest have closed envelopes and are not bold?

Why are the CC's sometimes yellow and sometimes grayish?

Why are some of the forums in the subgroups marked by different colors in the little boxes next to them?

Why is my time an hour off, even after I set it to EST, including DST?

I have a feeling that there are all sorts of meaning to things I just don't get...college applications were easier!

This is different! Was able to use my old username. Question: I chose the display 40 threads per page option, instead of default option. How many per page IS the default?

Anyone find the archives yet on the "New CC"?

Phew! I think the SAT was easier. What I'd really like in this new format is spellcheck. Is it here somewhere?

"Why are the CC's sometimes yellow and sometimes grayish?"

If you mean the little CC's below your name, it lets you know who is online and who is not. I have wasted too much time (that I don't have!) today trying to figure all of the little icon meanings. They are fun.

That makes sense. You have more patience than me.

Does getting a new CC board mean that we also get a new administration in Washington?

We should be so lucky!

I am quite confused by the time stuff on here. I have to put down Newfoundland as my time zone to make it work ahhah

Ilcapo, That's very funny. Well, I just discovered something useful--you can click on "view first unread" and it will skip the first three pages or whatever. That's a great new feature! I wonder though if the number of posts of each member is going to be per day or is just going to keep going and going...

Count me as another one who found my way here. Although it has also been a long time, evidently, as the last time I posted was 12-31-1969. I am very curious to see if my age pops up!
